Timberline Resort & Dolly Sods:
Canaan Valley has a variety of outdoor activities at all times of the year. Enjoy swimming, fishing and horseback riding in the summer when the temperature rarely goes over 80 degrees. Timberline Ski Resort has horseback riding and their lifts are open during the summer to see the spectacular views of Canaan Valley. Dolly Sods Wilderness Area has berry picking and many hiking trails to explore. In August you can watch the spectacular sight of American eagles flying over Dolly Sods as they migrate south.

In the winter enjoy skiing, snowboarding, snow tubing and ice-skating at the local ski resorts. Canaan Valley can get 7 feet of snow in just one snowfall!
