BEAUTIFUL, ARTISTIC, COZY, AND WONDERFUL OWNERS!

  • 5 of 5
My sister and I stayed here on our first visit to New York! (Actually November of 2011, not 2013). We loved it so much that I wanted to book again for my next trip with my boyfriend last June, but unfortunately it was booked. I am now planning another trip to New York, and I searched through 470 apartment listings on Homeaway, specifically to find this one! And I am eager to show this apartment to my boyfriend!
Jacqui and David were absolutely amazing! So hospitable, warm, and kind. They had friends visiting them and staying at the other beautiful apartment downstairs during our stay. They were so sweet to invite us down to meet them and spend some time with them. They even invited us to eat dinner with them, but we had to decline due to a show we bought tickets for. They make you feel like they've known you forever, and I guarantee, this is why people continue to go back!
I hope to stay at this apartment again. Do not hesitate to book this apartment. It is warm comfortable, and inviting, and you will not find kinder people.

NEW YEARS IN NEW YORK

  • 2 of 5
My wife and I and our four teenagers arrived on the 30th around noon. Check in was a little stressful, the owner wasn't that nice. The Brownstone has large rooms with the exception of the kitchen, very small. The bathroom had a claw foot bath tub that looked nice, but it was a pain to shower in. The tub was surrounded in plastic shower curtain, so it felt like you were showering in a plastic bag. The owners live upstairs, so at times it was kind of uncomfortable. There was some remodeling going on so it was noisy at times. Other than that we had a great time in New York City for New Years.

Owner's Response: Were happy to respond by saying here's the real story..... Christopher failed to mention that he and his wife booked for two adults, then showed up with four extra people! They were not happy with the correction in payment due for trying to sneak four older teens in for the same price . These folks were difficult from the start due to the lack of honesty . We made every attempt to make your extended family comfortable, unfortunately nothing seemed to be right by you.We were not pleased by their insistence not to pay the extra fees due. Did you forget about the laundry we washed and folded for your convenience? And as far as the Shower curtain ( Blown -up N.Y.C.subway map) I guess it's a matter of taste. We have never had anyone complain about showering in a plastic bag. sorry it wasn't silk. And,further more about the noise level of us remodeling two flights up, we made a point to only work while they were away for the day and never at night! Bottom Line: I showed you on our computer your original booking with us for two adults and 0 children and also showed you the rates button that explained the increase in rates for anyone over two persons . This only the 2nd poor review that we have received in 7 years of operation. I hope that prospective guests can see right through this review. End of point! David and Jacqui

THUIS IN NEW YORK!/HOME IN NEW YORK!

  • 5 of 5
Wij komen zeker terug!
The appartment of David and Jaqui is absolutely fantastic and "the place to be" for families who want to have a cosy "home" in New York. The owners are very friendly and give a lot of goog advice about visithing New York. The house was more than comfortable, clean and well furnished. We will sure return!

WHAT A GREAT DEAL!

  • 5 of 5
My wife and I along with our two very young children had a blast staying in the heart of Brooklyn... Neighborhood was historic and lively... the community was surprisingly friendly and rich in true native Brooklyn culture... Diverse with some great restaurants, bakeries, deli's just around the corner. make sure u start off with Dalias fresh baked goodies in the morning... muffins to die for! ... David's Brisket for lunch was (no lie) the best Pastrami or corned beef sandwich we have ever eatn! Great Jamaican spot at Fulton above A and C train platform. Aside from the great location in our opinion, was the magnificent historic Brownstone we had the privilege of staying in- just like i remember growing up in as a kid. David and his wife were amazing! ...helpful in every way needed. Our living space was spacious and well decorated... clean and inviting. As a builder i was mesmerized by the charm of all the hundred plus year old trim work and details of this building inside and out! Work of Art! Anyways, thanks to David and his sweet wife for opening up their home for us to enjoy! We will be back! BROOKLYN STAND UP!!

Owner's Response: Peter and Family,Thank you kindly for the generous review .We could tell from the start by your enthusiasm and nostalgia of being back in Brooklyn again! Were glad you enjoyed the diverse flair of our Historic neighborhood. Now you know why we moved here from the harsh northern Michigan climate (don't be mistaken Marquette Michigan is the Greatest place to live as well) but...Were genuine BROOKLYNITES now. Please come visit us again , since you just skimmed the surface..Brooklyn awaits you. Best Wishes David and Jacqui
