Jacqui and David were excellent hosts. The apartment was absolutely fantastic - old Brooklyn charm, stunning floors, pocket doors, high ceilings, lovely old window shutters, all tastefully and carefully restored. A lot of love and hard work went into making the parlor and the whole building shine. The kitchen was well equipped, the bed comfortable. We were three blocks from the A train and a quick trip into NYC with this lovely oasis to look forward to every evening. My only regret is that we did not have longer to stay! Thank you for everything!
My sister and I stayed here on our first visit to New York! (Actually November of 2011, not 2013). We loved it so much that I wanted to book again for my next trip with my boyfriend last June, but unfortunately it was booked. I am now planning another trip to New York, and I searched through 470 apartment listings on Homeaway, specifically to find this one! And I am eager to show this apartment to my boyfriend!
Jacqui and David were absolutely amazing! So hospitable, warm, and kind. They had friends visiting them and staying at the other beautiful apartment downstairs during our stay. They were so sweet to invite us down to meet them and spend some time with them. They even invited us to eat dinner with them, but we had to decline due to a show we bought tickets for. They make you feel like they've known you forever, and I guarantee, this is why people continue to go back!
I hope to stay at this apartment again. Do not hesitate to book this apartment. It is warm comfortable, and inviting, and you will not find kinder people.
It was our second stay in the parlor apartment. Like the first time, everything was just fine. The apartment is perfectly located and the neighborhood is nice, David and Jacqui are caring and welcoming hosts, We just look forward to go back!
My wife and I and our four teenagers arrived on the 30th around noon. Check in was a little stressful, the owner wasn't that nice. The Brownstone has large rooms with the exception of the kitchen, very small. The bathroom had a claw foot bath tub that looked nice, but it was a pain to shower in. The tub was surrounded in plastic shower curtain, so it felt like you were showering in a plastic bag. The owners live upstairs, so at times it was kind of uncomfortable. There was some remodeling going on so it was noisy at times. Other than that we had a great time in New York City for New Years.
Wij komen zeker terug!
The appartment of David and Jaqui is absolutely fantastic and "the place to be" for families who want to have a cosy "home" in New York. The owners are very friendly and give a lot of goog advice about visithing New York. The house was more than comfortable, clean and well furnished. We will sure return!
