A rare gem - a comfortable, modern house with plenty of rural charm! It stands out from most other Rhinebeck area homes for this unusual combination.
Lots of quiet and privacy yet only 6 miles away from Rhinebeck and the Dutchess County Fairgrounds and Rhinebeck village. Beautiful views from every room. Large deck for outdoor dining. Eight person hot tub, wonderful for star gazing at night.
It is the perfect place for a year round getaway, with all the creature comforts of home and fine dining and outdoor activities nearby.
The first floor has stunning wood floors and a large open living space: an open loft living room/dining room/kitchen with a cozy gas fireplace & huge island with leather bar stools -- great for entertaining. Mudroom with plenty of space for coats and boots, and a den with a comfortable Italian leather sofa with a pull out bed. On the second floor are four bedrooms and two bathrooms, including a master bedroom with a huge walk in closet. Sprawling deck with grill. Our house is child friendly, with lush lawns, a play structure and rope swing and indoor games. Great for families and couples seeking a quiet rural getaway, with all the pleasures of gourmet dining, shopping, movies, historic sites and outdoor activities nearby!
As New York City dwellers we were looking for a truly secluded country setting where our kids and dog could play, roam and explore. We also wanted a traffic-free route that would take less than 90 minutes door-to-door. We love the Clinton-Corners, Rhinebeck area because it's beautiful, friendly, and offers so many cultural events and gourmet treasures. The farmers market, orchards and wineries are fantastic -- and how can you beat the $5 first run movies in Red Hook and incredible ice cream at Holy Cow?
Most of all, though, our home gives us a place to relax and unwind in the most spectacular setting.
Visit the Dutchess County Tourism website for lists of local restaurants, sites, outdoor activities, music other events.
We searched long and hard for a location where we could see no neighboring houses. We wanted quiet but also wanted to be close town center. We also wanted a place with cell phone coverage. We got it all.
The house is comfortable, relaxing and homey. Close to Bard, Vassar and Marist Colleges as well as the Culinary Institute of America and West Point. Minutes away from FDR Historic Site and Museum.
