Yes, this apt is truly a Times Square Sensation. Definitely will recommend to family, friends especially for 1st time visitors, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.
It was the first time for my two cousins to visit NYC, and this apt experience was perfect for them. The apt is close enough to Times Square and uptown, and at the same time far away enough to be able to rest & relax.
The pictures of the apt are very accurate. We spent alot of time in the living area. Although we spent less time in the two rooms, they are spacious and have doors if you want the privacy.
As you can see everything in the apt is brand new, beautifully decorated, and surprisingly, a quiet apt building for its central location. The a/c, lighting in the apt were fantastic. The bathroom and shower are done very nice. Cable TV, wifi, microwave were great. Refrig is spaceous.
The psychic on the ground floor provides almost, 24-hour neighborhood watch. We felt very safe
The apt was absolutely clean when we arrived, and we got the keys without any hassle. Note: You will need a mobile phone to coordinate your arrival with the renters. Make calls upon your arrival at the airport or as you head to the apt.
One-block down and you'll find restaurant row, bars, theaters, etc. The trains downtown and uptown are only a few blocks away. The 24-hour Duane Reade on the corner was also convenient for late night drinks, snacks, etc.
There's lots of parking on the street during the day but at night it can be challenging to find any parking in front of the apt on the street (plenty of parking lots nearby to park your car if you have one but a car is not nec). Taxi's are easy to catch uptown or downtown (on 8th or 9th). During rush hour recommend taking Westside Hwy to the apt, do not go up 6th Ave; enjoy the great river views and cleaner air (if you are really seeking an adventure tell your taxi driver you'll tip an extra $10 if he can beat the taxi in front of you, we got uptown from SOHO/Canal in less than 15 min for about $20!)
Also, the apt is very secure and neighbors (although we only saw a few) were friendly. If you eat-in, throw out your garbage regularly.
We plan to use HomeAway again, and plan to stay at this apt again if avail or we will definitely contact these renters for other options in the city.
