LET THE SOUNDS OF LAKE MICHIGAN SOOTHE YOU

Manistee Cottage Rental Photos and Description

3 bedrooms, 1.5 bathrooms, sleeps 8

Step away from the hustle & bustle - relax, unplug, and unwind in this secluded wooded setting. Lake Michigan sits just across the quiet private road offering calming lake breezes and soothing sounds. Our cottage does not offer direct beach access but a number of low bluff accesses to Manistee's sugar-sand beaches are within a 5-15 minute drive. Take an evening stroll down the quiet country road for beautiful lake and sunset views or just sit back and enjoy the natural beauty and wildlife from the large open deck. This newly constructed, July 2009, completely furnished, T&G nautical style cottage offers the perfect spot for family vacations, hunting and fishing trips. Within walking distance to thousands of acres of Manistee National Forest offering great opportunities to explore the natural beauty, hike, and hunt. Just 9 miles south of Manistee. Available spring through fall. I'm sorry, we maintain a no pet policy - pets will not be considered.

Area: Northwest Michigan offers a variety of 'day trips' from the cottage. Ludington's car ferry, The Badger is just 30 minutes south and offers daily trips to Wisconsin. Nearby Tippy Dam is renowned for its spring and fall Steelhead runs. Take a hike on the North Country Trail just west of town. Hamlin and Portage Lakes offer great boating and fishing. Visit Sleeping Bear Dunes, Interlochen Music Academy and Traverse City just a little over a hour north. Michigan Adventures Amusement Park in Muskegon is a little over a hour south Take in an ol' fashioned drive-in movie at the Cherry Bowl Drive-In 45 minutes north. At the end of the day return to the cottage and sit by the campfire, gaze at the stars and relax - that's what vacations are for!

Perfect get-away

The cottage was perfect, very clean and nicely decorated, a true home-away from home.
We had a really good time talking long walks on the beach and in the woods, took daily trips to Ludington and Frankfort, shopped fresh produce and pie at Orchard Farm, enjoyed good meals at River Station and House of Flavors.
It was a very relaxing vacation and we hope to return next year.

Birthday get away

My son and I share a birthday that we wanted to celebrate this year far from home and we found the absolute perfect place to do that. This home was extremely clean with modern decor and appliances. The deck was amazing for just relaxing outside or watching the wild life. There is lots to do in and around town (we went kayaking one of the days which was awesome) with stores near by for provisions. The house had some cooking supplies but make sure and bring anything you will need to cook (like spices, tin foil, etc.) I would definitely recommend staying here!!!

New Years Weekend

My husband and 2 other couples decided to rent a place for New Years weekend and we couldn't have found a better place! It had everything we need to have a great weekend; kitchen was stocked with needed cooking items, beds were clean and comfortable and the bathroom stocked with enough clean towels. We spent the most time playing board games and celebrating the incoming new year. Would highly recommend this place to anyone. Thanks for a great weekend that saved us from staying in a "stuffy" hotel room.

Great winter get-away!

Myself and 7 other grad students rented this house for a few days of relaxation over winter break. The owners, Liz and Mac, were very helpful and friendly. The house was beautiful (even nicer than the pictures on the website) and cozy. The living room provided great space for all of us to hang out, play games, and watch movies; the kitchen was well-suited to cooking for several people. We enjoyed exploring the woods behind the cabin and building snowmen in the yard. The owners also provided us with directions to the Nordhouse Dunes Wilderness Area from the cabin, and we spent a day exploring that area -- beautiful during the winter! Overall we had a great experience and would definitely come here again!

What an amazing place in northern Michigan! We had a fanastic weekend in your beautiful home with it's adorable decorations. This home was soooooo clean and well equipted. Plenty of extra pillows, blankets and the kitchen had everything you could have ever asked for.
A BIG thank you to Mac who came out on New Year's Eve with a tow rope to help get one of our cars out of the snow (I think there was about 2 feet over the weekend).
The kids loved sledding down the hill and ping pong tournaments
We would love to experience this home in the summer of 2010 and will surley come back next winter. Thanks you for the use of your beautiful home and your hospitality!
