Recent Bathroom Renovation. This condo has been noted in many well known travel books. The 'European Suite' was purchased back in 1984 and is going through it's 25th Silver Anniversary. Like many Waikiki condos it is located in an older (well maintained) building but unlike many other budget priced vacation rental condominiums we have continually 'UPGRADED' this condo as can be seen by the recent, clear and detailed photos. Located in 'The Heart of Waikiki' on Nohonani Street most of our guests are 'Return Guests' who like not only our tropical courtyard, re-tiled pool and S/S Gas Grill, but the perks of a well equipped kitchen and a condo where everything works and cleanliness is exceptional. Over the many years our guests refer to us as 'This is the Waikiki Beach style of living that we prefer' as compared to the less personal high rises which surround Nohonani Street. After 30 years at the Hawaiian King and previous owner of an activities license/business at the Hawaiian King details about where to golf and the best deals along with referrals for luau's, car rentals, hiking tours,etc. are provided by the owner . About Pat and Mana Winston

Owner lives on property and has a background in the Hotel Industry. Pat was a former licensed specialty contractor who also owned a furniture store for over 20 years that furnished many hotel rooms and condo vacation rentals on all the Islands.

Why Pat and Mana Winston chose Waikiki

If you are looking for an ocean view, valet parking or other hotel features such as room service than these condos are not for you. On the other hand if you are looking at an excellent value, a unique experience in a 'Retro' vacation rental that is clean, comfortable and well furnished than look no further. Pat and Mana are normally on property to handle your check in and check out. If you want to experience a little of 'Old Waikiki' in an excellent central location and work with owners who are dedicated and working hard making sure that everything works, the kitchens are well furnished, sheets and towels in good condition than look no further. We do not ask for prepayment in full and have a efficient and professional reservation system. This is not a side or extra business. This is our main business 7 days a week.

What makes this condo unique

Location, location and location. Besides an ideal location and an ideal location within the building on the Ala Wai (north) side upper floors for more light and breeze (trade winds). the owner's spend 5-8 hours per check out to help insure proper sanitation and that there are no surprises at check in. It is unique to experience what others experienced back in the 1960's/1970's when Waikiki was much different than today's Waikiki. When getting good sun or reading a good book in the shady area of the pool or using the BBQ, looking around you get that sense that this is a very authentic 'Retro Experience'. We cater to seniors and long extended stays and the condo is set up to handle extended stays.

We have been visiting Hawaii for over 25 years. We have stayed at many different places in Waikiki. We discovered the Hawaiian King about 12 years ago, and have been renting from Pat and Mana since. Pat’s units are very clean and have all of the amenities needed for a relaxing stay. The Hawaiian King is conveniently located near the center of Waikiki. The bus stops are just around the corner and shopping is near by. All of the attractions in the Waikiki area are with in walking distance. We enjoy staying at the Hawaiian King Hotel and always look forward to our next visit.

Owner's Response: Some returning "Snow Birds" from Canada have had stayed at other condos and buildings over the years and it is nice when they find something they like, the ideal central location and close to the buses without their noise that invades many condo units in Waikiki located on or to close to the bus lines.

Home from home

This was one of many stays that we have had in the Hawaiian King, staying in one of Winston's Condos. Although our international flight was arriving very late in the evening, Pat, the owner was still waiting for us, and had even secured us a car parking stable at a very reasonable price. The condo had everything that you needed for your stay, full size fridge and freezer, four ring stove, toaster, coffee percolator, plenty of crockery and cutlery, towels, cleaning materials, radio and flat screen television. In fact, everything you need for a pleasant vacation in "paradise".
You will be pleasantly surprised by the amount of space that you get, for much less than a hotel room.
The location is central to everything. Just a couple of minutes from bus stops, shops and the world famous Waikiki Beach.
My wife and I are looking forward to a return tip in 2014 and the opportunity to meet up with Pat and Mana again. Nothing is too much trouble for them to ensure you have a pleasant stay.

After our 1st stay we have become fans of Pat's condos, (the next visit will be our 7th in 3 years). Our place is always scrupulously clean and Pat and Mana are available if a problem should occur. We like that we are on the 4th floor and away from the street (quieter at night). We are near to family, yet have our own space and time. The bus is the best for seniors, no car needed, thank you! The pool is kept very clean and I like that it is a salt pool-less chlorine. I have always felt very safe here and in the area, no matter the time of day/night.

In May, 2012 I stayed at Pat's condos. The condo is an older but very well maintained building in the heart of Waikiki with units surrounding a quiet courtyard with a swimming pool. All of Pat's units are recently remodelled and in excellent condition. My unit had a completely furnished kitchen with all appliances including a rice cooker. Complete kitchen utensils, linens and cleaning supplies were included. The separate sleeping area made this a very spacious one bedroom apartment. I would definitely recommend this property for a great stay in Waikiki at reasonable prices. I will be coming back.

Owner's Response: This single senior had stayed at our building back in the early 1990's in another condo that was in need of some repairs, but he liked the overall building experience. Last year he stayed at a hotel two blocks away on a shorter stay thinking I just did monthly stays. Although we specialize in 30 day and longer stays we also do limited 7-14 day stays in a couple of our condos. He booked last year at that time and just checked out a few weeks ago after staying 30+ days. He has said he enjoyed many facets of the actual condo unit and plans on returning next year. Being the condo unit was located the longest distance away from our free wi-fi signal the wi-fi connection at times was weak for this guest and other times good. Recent previous guests staying 6 months in this same condo unit experienced good connections most of the time. The HOA has done one recent upgrade on this system and will be continually trying to get a stronger signal to the few condos at the corners of it's range because of their location within our building and placement behind our concrete stairs have the weakest signals.

Great Value

Great value and a very short walk to beach. Condo is well equiped and Pat is a gracious and courteos host. We did have all the furnishings and supplies for a month of paradise living when we arrived. The property has a great pool and hugh gas grill for cook outs. Condo is quiet and the private lanai a real plus for just relaxing. We have stayed in this unit before and are planning another month for this fall. It is almost like our own home when we stay here. I would highly recommend Pat's condos for anyone who wants their $'s to go farther and still have all the pleasures of Waikiki so you can return again and again. Don't forget your skin block and suit.

We stayed ten days at one of Pat's condo and we had a fantastic time. The condo offers everything you need and it is absolutely clean. Pat and his wife are really nice and helpful people. A fantastic place for yout vacations!!!

This continually upgraded Condo is located in the 'Heart of Waikiki'. This was one of the last areas of Waikiki to be developed around statehood time and is a favorite area of many returning guests who prefer the closeness to everything, but prefer lower rise buildings (we have stairs and also an elevator (ADA)) and good peace and quiet in this specific location of the Hawaiian King. Over the last 3 decades I have been able to purchase and renovate this condo in the quieter location within the Hawaiian King on the Ala Wai side upper floor. We have been told our condo is very quiet for being in such a good/central location and the guests can get a good nights sleep.

Golf: Lots of golfing available & owner can give you advice on rates and courses. We have a complete set of golf clubs for guests usage.
