Located in the Wild and Scenic Section of the Rogue River, in beautiful Southern Oregon.
Incredible mountain and river views, salmon fishing, nature viewing and river access.
Riversong was an experience to remember. My son caught his first fish right off of the dock! It was such a thrill for him, I'm sure he will never forget it. Our family had such a wonderful time in Grants Pass. What a nice small town. We had great food and great people. We were privledged to observe the eagles and osprey right from the deck. We appreciated the "comfortability" of the house, it had everything we needed. We will always remember this vacation. Thank you for sharing your home with us.
Most amazing getaway! Owners were wonderful. Beds are very comfortable. I loved sitting on the deck each morning and evening. It was the perfect getaway- even for my 13 and 17 year olds! They loved the ping pong table. My husband and daughter loved fishing. Highly recommend going to the resort up the road to float the river... And eat ice cream!!
What a great get away for a holiday weekend, scenic, quiet and exceeded our expectations!
The home was beautiful and everything we needed was provided.
The kids had a great time and the guys had fun every night with the horse shoe tournaments
Barbara and Dennis were great and kept us updated with the fires in the area.
We look forward to coming back again and enjoying a great weekend.
We stayed 3 nights and we didn't want to leave! The views are so beautiful. This location can't be beat. The house is spacious and comfortable. Dennis and Barbara were so nice, we really appreciated our welcome basket waiting for us when we arrived. My husband and son enjoyed fishing at the dock. My son didn't even miss his cell phone/ video games while we were here!
Blissful is one word to describe this place. After four gorgeous mornings here, it is hard to go back to city life. The feeling you get when you open your eyes and see the beautiful river flow by is spiritual.
The place is picture perfect.
Dennis was a fabulous host providing lot of great suggestions and being very responsive with every question.2nd house after the 10 mile marker is the best tip he gave us… so simple, yet invaluable to find the house easily!
They even provided a wonderful welcome basket with some delightful wine and goodies.
We were three families with 10 adults and 3 small kids and we were very comfortable here. There was plenty of bedding and linens for all of us.
The kitchen is a delight. They had every little appliance or tool you need.
All of us felt this is certainly one of the best, if not the best, cabins we have stayed in – Kids, Seniors, everyone enjoyed it. Books, board games, cards, fishing rods and nets… something for everyone in your group.
The location is central to a lot of activities. We made a comfortable day trip to Diamond and Crater Lake. Some visited the Caves enroute.
The one thing to be aware of is that there is no cellular signal and no wi-fi. It is nice that you are completely shut off but it can be a bit challenging if you are not well planned.
There is a landline phone that was very helpful. If you are one on those who depend on things like Yelp or Trip advisor during vacations for ad-hoc plans, you will be better served with some advanced planning.
All in all, you cannot go wrong with this place. You will be very happy with Riversong…. The place is a beautiful poem on rouge river!
Every morning and evening we had to pry ourselves off the deck and away from the view. We enjoyed searching the banks for deer and beaver and watching all the birds. No otters, but we'll hold out hope for next time. We did fish unsuccessfully off the dock (pretty grassy), but it really didn't matter. We had fun. The house is as pictured -- comfortable and nothing too fancy inside, but oh the view!
Our hosts were amazing. We appreciated their responsiveness to questions and tips on what to do in the area. There was even a welcome basket full of goodies when we arrived. Couldn't ask for better!
We didn't realize it at the time, but in hindsight are very glad this house is not actually located in Grants Pass. Grants Pass was crowed and we quickly got frustrated with getting around. The house is actually above Merlin....far far more desirable for our purposes. It couldn't have been more perfectly located.
We've rented numerous properties in different states and this ranks right at the top. We look forward to coming back. Thanks!
5 days at Riversong weren't enough. The house, the owners, the region--in a word: superb. We've been renting VRBOs hither and yon for a little over a decade and have been pretty fortunate, and we rate this house in the Top 3. And it's difficult to say what impressed us the most, the house or the owners, Dennis & Barbara.
First, D&B went the extra mile for all the important little details--e-mail replies, answers to umpteen questions, on-site availability, providers of vital regional information. And the "Welcome!" gift basket filled with regional wine and goodies was unexpected and tasty.
As for the house, it offered all the right amenities: perfect location (remote, quiet, on a gentle, scenic portion of the river, within 15 minutes of Grant's Pass), clean as whistle, a lot of room, one of the best views out of the master bedroom in the history of good views, Sat TV, laundry facility, parlor games, and a well stocked, orderly, and logically arranged kitchen. We've no hesitation recommending this property.
For the curious, here's some 4-1-1 about the area. Grant's Pass is a prime example of how good a small, northwestern, Pacific coastal region city can be. No shortage of amenities (grocery stores, health care, activities, etc.) and things to do. We found the area clean and the residents helpful and pleasant. In our 5 days we enjoyed the annual street art festival, some great restaurants, the Glass Forge, fun antique shopping, fishing on the Rogue river, scenic photography, hiking, and the unbelievable Jedediah Smith redwood forest (just a little over an hour away). We have every intention of returning.
