Welcome to Sand Castlemore – the perfect escape to the Seascape of the Pacific Northwest. Just steps from the sand, this new beachfront luxury home was nominated for 2009 through 2014 King 5 & Evening Magazine Best of Western Washington Northwest Escapes--Best Getaways. Our beautiful, custom-built, Lindal Cedar (beachfront) home is slightly more than a 2 hour drive from the Seattle/Tacoma or Portland areas. Located on Sunset Beach in Moclips, Washington it is an easy drive north of Ocean Shores. The home's seashore setting, glorious unobstructed panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean, decadent accommodations, and magical charm make it the perfect vacation destination for families, friends, romantic getaways, and for a sea escape from the 'real world.'
Make no mistake, SAND CASTLEMORE IS JUST STEPS FROM THE SAND -- not like homes on the bluff requiring a serious hike to the beach or a drive in the car, and not like homes to the south sitting a mile or more back from the sand’s edge -- but rather, Sand Castlemore requires only 16 easy steps from the homes deck, down a private staircase, to the sea grass below. Imagine spending the entire day on the beach but only having a quick trip up your very own stairs to grab a beach towel, some food and drink, or to meet a restroom need. This can be especially handy with children or older folk who may tire more easily. This home has unmatched privacy--there are no homes on the beach to the south as far as the eye can see. This is especially convenient when enjoying the private hot tub.
This part of the Washington Coast features a beautiful high bluff with windswept trees, and the tranquil, unspoiled beaches below. Perhaps more surprising, it features the expansive Olympic wilderness that is famous for its BIGFOOT SIGHTINGS. Several of the most “well-known and documented” sightings have been only a few miles from our home. We won’t tell if we’ve seen Bigfoot ourselves!
There are several of the best steelhead and salmon rivers in the whole Pacific Northwest within a 30 minute drive. Lake Quinault is a 20 minute drive east. The Hoh River rain forest and the Olympic National Park are a short distance away.
This gorgeous 3 bedroom, 2 bath home can accommodate 8 to 10 and offers unmatched seaside quality throughout.

We spent three nights here with another couple and two young children. We all enjoyed ourselves. Spacious, comfortable, clean and so convenient to the beach. Enjoyed beachcombing and relaxing in the hot tub and by the gas fireplace. I absolutely would recommend this home and plan to return again soon.
For the last 6 years we have been bring our growing family to Moclips and have stayed at 4 total places. By far Sandcastle more is #1. I have viewed other homes while in the area and can't find one to replace it. It's settled, we will be staying at SMC again in 2015
I so enjoyed my visit to Sand Castle. This is by far the best place I have rented for a vacation. The house was beautiful and easy access to the beach. The hot tub was perfect after enjoying a day at the beach. I hope I can go again soon.
Setting can't be beat. Warm, inviting house perfect for two couple and kids. We made it work for three couples, although the loft bedrooms with bath downstairs was a bit awkward. None of the bedrooms are very big, but all are adequate. Livingroom is special with gas fireplace (really puts out the heat & very realistic), very conducive to enjoying each other's company. Hot tub was a great luxury (really appreciated the provided beach towels). Propane stove didn't get very hot which was a problem for our chefs, but owners were very attentive and did their best to alleviate the problem. Rest of kitchen worked well --- well stocked with mixing bowls, cookie sheets, pots, pans of every size and use. Glassware good (almost five of every conceivable size/shape). Sum total experience? We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
We recently had the pleasure of staying here for a relaxing three day weekend in October with a group of 6 adults, 2 children (ages 6 and 3) and 1 dog. Only a short stretch of seagrass separates you from the beach and amazing views can be enjoyed from throughout the home or from deck's hot tub or Adirondack chairs. The home is tastefully and comfortably furnished and thoughtfully setup. Even dog beds and dog towels were provided. Our group loves to cook so we especially appreciated the well-stocked kitchen. The owners were pleasant and prompt in responding to questions. Overall, highly recommended.
Sandcastlemore truly does have it all. The views are spectacular, the location (with no neighbors on the left) is great, and the home is fully stocked. We've used VRBO a number of times and every place seems to promote their property as having 'everything'. This property can back that statement up, right down to the little skewers for corn on the cob. The owners have thought of everything you could ever want on your vacation, and as a results we felt really cared for in their property. The dog treats and toys were an added bonus. So thoughtful!! We can't wait to come back to Sandcastlemore for another fabulous vacation. Thank-you so much!
Sand Castlemore is slightly more than a two hour drive from the Seattle/Tacoma or Portland areas. Take I-5 toward Olympia. Merge onto Hwy 101 N (Ocean Beaches Exit, 101N, 109N, Hwy 8, Interstate 12). In about 5 miles, bear West onto SR-8. SR-8 becomes US Hwy 12. 20 more miles and you come to Aberdeen. Travel through Aberdeen and Hoquiam. From Hoquiam, follow the Forks/Port Angeles 101N turn to the right and head North on Highway 101 for about 4 miles. Turn Left onto Ocean Beach Road. Head NW on Ocean Beach Road for about 20 miles until you get to the intersection of Ocean Beach Road and SR-109, at Pacific Beach. Turn right onto SR-109 and travel north for about 1 mile. Turn Left onto SUNSET STREET and proceed down hill to Sand Castlemore -- on the left (beach side) of the road.
Other Activities: Beach combing, kite flying, razor clamming, fishing, beach fires, sand castle building.
