Enjoying the Shenandoah River....:
A canoe and four tubes are available for you to play with in the river, in the summer. The Shenandoah River Outfitters is just 1 mile from the cottage, if you need a shuttle for the canoe, or need to rent more canoes.Walk out the door of the Knotty Pine & you can hike the George Washington National Forest. It's a short 10 minute walk to the river, or drive, plenty of free parking. Walk for more than a mile along the river on George Washington National Forest property from #8 to #9, stop & fish, or just sit & listen to the sounds of the river. Enjoy all this area has to offer, but also relax and do nothing at the Knotty Pine Cottage.
Exploring Luray.....:
Just 12 miles from the Knotty Pine to Luray Caverns, Luray Airport, & Caverns Country Club Resort Golf Course, which (There are many other Golf courses in the area too.) Luray Zoo has exotic animals & a petting zoo which is a favorite with children. Stop by the Art Warehouse in Luray. Visit Shenandoah National Park & drive Skyline drive. Hike in the park to see waterfalls & wildlife. Appalachian Advantures offers ATV's & Jet Ski's rentals, guided fishing trips, hunts & more. Fort Valley Stables offer guided trail rides, & is only a 20 minute drive from the Knotty Pine. Sheandoah Speedway is a 30 min. drive, but worth it for the racing fans in your family! There are endless activities offered in Luray: concerts, art shows, etc..check the Visitors Guide and/or with the Chamber of Commerce, of which I am a member.

The Knotty Pine Cottage is close the Luray Caverns Golf Course. This beautiful golf course is surrounded by mountains! There are many other golf courses in the area to try out as well.
