About sharon strong and mike satterlee
Our main home is in San Diego, California. We live on the premises during the season. We've always enjoyed camping in Baja and the mainland of Mexico searching for perfect waves, beaches and the great hospitality and culture of the Mexican people. We sailed down here a few times and enjoy the area with its many tuck-aways bays to anchor. We especially like the rustic, 'toes in the sand' restaurants with cold beer and margaritas. We were captain & chef on a sail/dive charterboat for l5 years in the Caribbean based out of the BVI's.
sharon strong and mike satterlee purchased this house in 2008
Why sharon strong and mike satterlee chose Sayulita
We have searched for exactly this spot: on the waterfront, a special jungled paradise, away from the world yet close enough to a small town of Sayulita 1 (kilometer) and only 45 minutes (20 miles) to Central Puerto Vallarta. It is quiet - only the sounds of birds and surf. We love Mexico; the art, food, architecture, culture and the warm generous spirit of the Mexican people. After living on a sailboat we were delighted to find this spot while spending a year traveling through all of Mexico once again, wondering if we had missed anything...yes and then FOUND IT. We enjoy fresh fish and this town is a fishing village, very laid back. Surfing has been a part of our lives and it is fun to have breakfast on the beach and watch the early morning surfers. We have wonderful yet 'hidden' neighbors - so what could be better?
What makes this house unique
PRIVACY & TRANQUILITY -only surf sounds. ECO-FOREST (lots of greenery). WHALE WATCHING. PROXIMITY -You feel like you are a world away yet close enough to town. FULL SUNSETS in the winter- we get the full sunsets and on lucky evenings the emerald green flashes when the sun drops into the sea...the peninsula in Sayulita obscures this view to the town
Guestbook comments from the owner
"WOW!!! Where do you begin when describing the perfect vacation?...looked forward to the daily walks to town via Muertos Beach...Most precious to us was making our morning coffee and watching 'whale-vision' out the front of the bungalow. Wow. Never saw so many whales breech and tail slap in one hour...some days it was hard to tear ourselves away from the crashing waves....I could write a book about the rest of our adventures here....look forward to our next visit."
