what some guests have to say…
...Gorgeous place that exceeded all expectations.
…One of the most charming places we have been!
…Great Family Getaway
...Amazing weekend at your beautiful home!
…My family and I cannot say thank you enough. We had such an amazing weekend in your beautiful home! It was more than we expected - the pictures don't do it justice:)
….This is a 'must go' place and a 'must have' experience. The place has an incredible infrastructure to accommodate even the most demanding. Very reserved and beautiful in every detail. We definitely want to go back and stay longer, it was a very romantic stay.”
This little gem deserves its acclaim! My family and I spent Thanksgiving there, and couldn't have enjoyed ourselves more. They layout of the home gave everyone an opportunity to commune in common spaces, while also allowing quiet time in their own quarters. The location is fantastic, as it is set back along the creek for wonderful views, yet shaded from close-by neighbors.
With a family ranging in age from five months to 92 years, Evan's property pleased us all. I would highly recommend this property to a friend or relative, and I hope that my family has the pleasure of staying again in the coming years.
…Evan was very easy to work with and made long-distance planning easy. I would do this again - preferably with a longer stay. It was easy for my 93 year old mother to navigate and enjoy view without having to climb stairs. The frogs and turtle in front pond were a hit with 10 year old. She counted 7. We found ladder, scissors, measuring tape, and other items handy when we needed them. Laundry facilities worked very well.
..This is a beautiful and unique property in a fantastic setting. The owner was easy to deal with and very responsive to our needs. Our stay was quite pleasant.
..Lovely furniture, nice garden with fountains, multiple terraces with a great view. Our favorite places within the unit were the roof-deck, the fireplace and the boardwalk down the stairs at the water. All together an explicit recommendation!
..What a treasure to find a home that was so perfect for our need, so private, yet so close to the downtown Annapolis area! This gorgeous home is on the water, and even in late winter, the views are incredible. It gave us a feeling of total privacy, but was only about a mile to the Naval Academy. The floor plan is open, has very fun and eclectic but comfortable decorating, and with bedrooms and the main living areas on the main floor it was very easy for my 'stair challenged' father to be part of the group without having to climb any stairs. Highly recommend this house!
.. We just returned from a too-short stay at this stunning home. Everything I read in the reviews and saw in the photos was accurate - for my first experience with HomeAway that was great. Evan was very nice to deal with, easygoing, clear, comfortable to talk to, and accessible. He responded quickly to my inquiry and follow-ups.
Evan met us when I arrived with my parents and kids, and put us at ease while efficiently showing us around the house/property. He has a calm friendly way about him.
The home is stunning without being fussy. Everywhere you look is an artfully designed nook or a serene view into another space. The windows all across the waterside lend an outdoors-indoors feel.
My job brings me to high end golf/spa resorts, so my expectations for decor and cleanliness are high but I always want unique character too. This home has it all. It was clean and very neat, decorated with a wonderful sense of humor and beauty, and an intuition about what will make people feel comfortable. Interesting books are all around. The mannequin at the dinner table was a surprise to my very conservative parents but we all enjoyed her as a conversation piece. The outdoor areas are not sparkling new, but the photos are accurate and the comfort and character were better, to us, than generic perfection. We had fun in the driveway with the scooter, basketball hoop, and punching bag. The kitchen was well appointed and we brought food to enjoy lunches and breakfasts at the house.
The hot tub was perfect - watching the stars and the falling leaves in there was heavenly. We enjoyed the sitting area around the outdoor fire pit and had morning coffee floating on the barge with its fire pit going. Lunch was up on the rooftop deck. The trees are tall enough to give privacy even up there. We marveled over how the home absorbed 8 people with plenty of space to stretch out and relax. The bedrooms were luxurious - very comfortable beds, each room had its own personality. My parents liked the most conservative middle room with its serene blue-grey walls. My younger brother and SIL chose the memory-foam mattress in the 'antler' room. My sister and I shared the master bedroom with the view. Loved it! Hope to be back again soon!
Hi Evan -- I wanted to tell you we all LOVED your home! It absolutely made our USNA reunion perfect. We lucked out and the weather was beautiful all weekend too. We never even felt the need to go into town -- we just sat on the dock/decks enjoying old friends and your beautiful view. Thank you so much for sharing your home with us! We hope to return again...
What a wonderful home (even at this time of year.) We were able to bring in the new year with our closet friends over our lobster dinner and in the warmth of the two-way fireplace. The views of the water are spectacular and the home is everything you would imagine. Well-stocked, clean and comfortable. Thank you Evan.
Evan did everything to make our stay and family reunion delightful. We were so well taken care of . From the moment we walked into this beautiful house with its breathtaking view, we knew we had booked the right place. Evan was so easy to deal with, prompt and hands on in helping us make this trip so memorable for our family. We can't wait to go back. Joy and Ken
This was by far the best house my fiance (now husband) and I stumbled upon while trying to determine the perfect location for our families to meet for the first time. It was probably one of the biggest returns on investment we've found. The house itself provides the perfect amount of privacy away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Annapolis, yet it's still close enough to go out and explore the city if you'd like!
The pictures really don't do the house justice. We had about 30 of our immediate family members over for 4th of July and it offered plenty of space for everyone to roam freely or hang out together in about 10 different "hang out" locations. The driveway is huge (probably fits about 15 cars) so we set up a big canopy out front and had the 4th catered by a nearby BBQ place. In itself, the house could probably seat about 40 people at the same time without having to bring in extra chairs/tables, but rented some so that everyone could all sit in the same location out front. There were also plenty of electrical outlets (even on the decks) so we were able to easily hook up a couple different docking stations for our ipods to provide music in different hang-out spots. It also already had string lighting on the deck - which we enhanced with some of our own lighting.
The yard is seriously spectacular - it's very unique and charming with the koi pond, cobblestone walkways, bonfires, and the tiered deck levels. As each family member came in, my husband and I were satisfied with their reaction of how amazing the house was. The floating dock in the back yard was a real hit for taking pictures! The backdrop of the river and the woods across the river added even more charm to the location. The front yard provided a beautiful backdrop as well - you don't really even need to do any decorating if you're planning on hosting some sort of event because of the ambiance it provides.
The property was well-maintained and super clean. Everything was perfectly in place when we arrived.
The owner was very helpful throughout the entire booking process. He went above and beyond to make sure everything went smoothly for us. We were able to coordinate a walk-through to make sure it was exactly what we were looking for and he answered all of our questions.
We would recommend this place to anyone, small or large groups. It's the perfect place to host a laid back bbq like we did or for a romantic getaway! We would definitely go back!
Evan was very responsive and helpful throughout the process of booking. The house itself is secluded yet close to everything. Wonderful fire pit and rooftop balcony perfect for meals and games. Interesting decorations that add to the flare and enjoyability of the house. If you are looking for a vacation home - you have come to the right place. Hot tub was immaculate and a good spot to monitor the food cooking on the grille!
This was the perfect spot for a girls weekend getaway - not too far from DC, but far enough that it felt like a vacation. The home was plenty large for all 12 of us to enjoy comfortably, whether we wanted to do our own thing, hand out in small groups, or all gather together. The owner was incredibly helpful throughout the booking process, and responsive to all my questions. Everything went off without a hitch and we had a great time. We are already planning to come back next year!
The home was beautiful and large. BUT there were several issues with the house and the owner only made excuses and continuously referred us to "the lease". The hot tub was broken (see fine print on the lease), the fireplace was broken (see fine print on the lease), there were mice in the kitchen and he said "It's mice season" Huh? When spending that much money I expected some kind discount or apology rather than blaming the customer for not reading the fine print. We won't be back.
