The outside shower has hot water, and there are tables and chairs on upper and lower porches with ample space for drinks or meals. The house is fully air conditioned.
The private dock provides immediate access to the Pond for swimming and boating and, through a substantial breachway, to the Ocean. Renters are welcome to bring boats, kayaks or canoes. Access is provided to the private Weekapaug Beaches, with lifeguards in season and, by boat, to the private beach across the Pond. The 1.75-mile long Weekapaug Beach, seen across the Pond, is one of the most beautiful and pristine beaches in the northeast. With no structures permitted on the barrier beach, it is managed as a conservation and passive recreation area.
The house is easily accessible to fine dining, Watch Hill, Newport, the Mystic Seaport Maritime Museum, the Mystic Aquarium, golf, tennis, hiking, biking, shopping and casinos. There is also easy access to US Route 1, I-95, Amtrak trains, Westerly Airport (flights to Block island) and Providence Airport, as well as ferries to Block Island, Long Island, Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket. Rhode Island is the first State to receive the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences International Star Diamond Award. It is the only the 10th destination to receive the award, that has previously gone to such places as Baden-Baden, Germany and Lucerne, Switzerland.
