Come and enjoy our island home with us. Koi Palms Cottage is located within our gated property alongside our lovely Koi pond, in the quaint town of Kailua. The owners live on the property in the main house.
The cottage is a 600 square foot 1 bedroom unit. The kitchen is equipped with 2 induction hot plates with stainless steel cookware and a convection oven / microwave oven suitable for baking. A full size refrigerator, dishwasher and a large granite island complete the kitchen space. The bedroom has a king sized bed with luxury linens and a flat screen TV. The living room area is comfortable and inviting. With a 40 inch LED Smart TV and a small library of books from titles we've read to books guests have left behind. Feel free to take one for the plane ride home.
Stroll two blocks to the white sands of Kailua Beach with your morning coffee or tea to see a breathtaking sunrise or through Kailua town at night. Relax and enjoy the tumbling waters of our pond and its colorful Koi fish dancing below your windows. The vacation cottage has one parking space and a private entrance.
This is a non-smoking property.
The guest house was lovely and perfect! Very convenient to the beach and shopping. The mature tropical foliage around the cottage provided welcomed privacy. Light fixtures in the bathroom need to be replaced; otherwise all of the furnishings and condition of the property were wonderful. We also enjoyed the like-new Tommy Bahama beach chairs and the cooler that was available for our use.
From the beginning of my efforts to plan a Kailua vacation, Tricia was always very accommodating, helpful and truthful. As a result, it should not have been a surprise to see the little oasis that she and Eric have created, but it was. Frankly, the pictures do not do this one bedroom house justice. The residence and grounds were spotless, and my wife and I felt very much at home. It was hard to believe that the place was connected to the main house - and we both enjoyed the quiet and peaceful setting (augmented by a gorgeous koi pond right outside the window)! We cooked most of our meals in the house (kitchen is very well-supplied) and enjoyed most of them on the side patio. The location is only a few blocks from Kailua Beach (which, I may add, is probably the nicest beach I've ever visited!). I would not hesitate to rent this property again.
We stayed in April 2013 and the place was wonderful. It was spotlessly clean and the layout was great. It is located on a quiet street a few blocks from the beach. Kailua has many properties right on the beach that limit access but there is a passage to the beach between houses that makes it easy to get there. Tricia was a very helpful host, and met us soon after we arrived. She helped us with suggestions as to what to see in the area. The property has very good ventilation, with nice breezes and provides lots of amenities. There are two good induction hotplates instead of a stove but they worked well, we did lots of cooking. The kitchen was well equipped and Tricia left us some local fruits and snacks before we checked in. It is an easy walk to shopping and restaurants also. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants a much more laid back experience than Honolulu provides.
We are frequent visitors to Hawaii and to Kailua in particular. This was our fourth stay at Koi Palms so obviously we love it. It is perfect for a couple, immaculately clean, well appointed (even toothpicks) and conveniently located in a great residential neighborhood. Two and a half blocks to wonderful Kailua Beach and a walkable distance to Kailua Town. Tricia and Eric are there if you need them, but the cottage, with its own entry, lanai and lush tropical plants surrounding the unit provides privacy too. We will definitely "hana hou" (do it again) in the future.
Had a great stay at the Koi Palms Cottage. Pictures made available are quite accurate. Every amenity needed was there. Very clean. Beautiful welcome basket was greatly appreciated and well used! Tricia greeted us upon arrival and stated if we needed anything don't be afraid to ask. Other than that we felt like we were at our own private getaway as Tricia and her family never intruded once. Very short walk to Kailua Beach and to downtown Kailua. My only regret is that we didn't stay longer at Kailua as it was very relaxing. Enjoyed Cinnamons for breakfast and the Kailua Towne Pub & Grill for cocktails. Enjoyed all the restaurants that we visited. Numerous hikes in the area that we enjoyed and are quite easy to find. Drove to North Shore for the day which was nice but enjoyed the Kailua area more. Have already recommended the Koi Palms to every person that has asked about our Hawaiian vacation. if the opportunity arose to visit Oahu again this would be my choice for accommodations.

Koi Palms Cottage was perfect!!!! Description and pictures were accurate. The cottage was immaculate, comfortable and equipped with everything needed from beach equipment to detailed maps and guides. We had no issues requiring owner intervention and were afraid we would not get a chance to meet them. . However we were delighted to have a chance to speak with them and found them to be welcoming, friendly, concerned about our comfort, just delightful. A 4 minute walk to the beach in Kailua each morning started our day. The location of the cottage was also close to town and access to any route for getting around the island. We were able to snorkel, hike, boogie board and swim. We enjoyed shopping at Whole Foods, eating at Assagio, Fromaggio and a lite lunch/dinner at The Shack. If we return to Oahu, we will definitely return to Kailua and hope that Koi Palms is available.
Koi Palms Luxury Cottage is conveniently located within walking distance of world famous Kailua Beach and Kailua town restaurants and shops. We love to scroll the beach at sunrise and then walk to town in the early evening for a fantastic meal at Sangs Sushi Bar and Thai restaurant .
