House, 1 Bedroom + Den, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2-4)

Adorable, one bedroom/one bath cottage located in private development just off of Buck Creek Road. Cottage is located on High Cotton Lane which is off of Buck Creek Road just past Chestnut Hill Retirement Village and soccer fields. Remodeled and updated recently, this cute little gem is the perfect place for a quiet weekend get a way. With warm, maple cabinetry and all new appliances you would be very comfortable in our little mountain retreat. Our stone fireplace is very cozy on cool morning and evenings. Our cottage is located just 2.8 miles from main street Highlands and a short 15 minute drive to Cashiers. Our top deck provides views of Shortoff Mountain.

About The Owner

I am a retired school teacher from south west Georgia. I purchased my home in Highlands to get a way from the sweltering heat of south west Georgia in the summer. I love Highlands and its cool summer temperatures. The elevation of 4, 118 feet guarantees a much cooler summer than I get in south Georgia.

Why The Owner chose Highlands

Highlands is a great vacation destination with something for everyone. Highlands is a unique town in that you can be as casual as you want or as formal as you like. Highlands offers small town charm with New York sophistication. The shopkeepers are extremely nice and everyone is very friendly. The shops on main street offer everything from an ice cream cone to furniture to fur coats. The local book store is fantastic.

So close to town and yet secluded

If you have the opportunity, stay at this beautiful well maintained Villa. High Cotton is the perfect place, in that it is with in two miles of downtown Highlands. HIghlands is a busy town, great restaurants, great stores to shop! We enjoyed the company of great neighhbors, which we met at the super gathering place, where everyone seems to meet during cocktail hour. In fact the neighbors next door gave us tips of places to see and do.The Villa was nice and roomy with all the ammenities you would have at home. You are close to town, and yet secluded. Jane, we want to Thank you for giving us the opportunity to relax and still have a great time at your Villa.

Charming Cottage

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our vacation to the Highlands area. We both like to

hike (and so does our dog). There are so many beautiful hikes in the area and waterfalls are plentiful.

This pet friendly cabin was perfect.....We spent several days at the cabin during the first week of

October, 2012, and found it to be very charming, comfortable, and clean. The decor inside made it

feel cozy … like a home-away-from-home. It is located on a side street in the woods, along with five

other similar type cabins.The other owners, mostly retirees, have been friends for over ten years and

are very helpful if you have any questions. Driving into town is only minutes away.

Next year I plan to book two stays: one for us and one as a gift for my in-laws.

Very good location to downtown Highlands. Quiet, cozy and comfortable. Property was as described. It was clean and well maintained. Excellent price for area and I would recommend to others looking for similar accomodations. A number of good restaurants and shops in downtown Highlands which is only 2 &1/2 miles away.

Great Place to Stay and Very Convenient

My mother, daughter and I recently rented this cottage for an Easter weekend get a way. We arrived in Highlands after dark on Thursday evening and I was delighted at how close this place was to town and how easy it was to find. This cottage is absolutely precious. It is decorated very nicely and has a wonderful two story deck. My daughter and I had planned to sleep on the sleeper sofa so my mom could have the bedroom but when we arrived we found the owner had added a day bed to the den. Everyone had their own bed and was very comfortable. You could hear the nearby creek from the deck so we relaxed on the decks after two days of shopping on Main Street and in near by Cashiers. This property is a great value and I would definately recommend it to anyone visiting Highlands. We plan to stay here again in October to see the leaves.

Charming Place to Stay

My husband and I rented this cottage for a weekend get a way from Atlanta. We both love to hike and needed a break from the city. This property is just what we were looking for. The house was very clean and equipped with everything we needed. I loved the warm and inviting decor. The house has lots of natural light and a cozy feel. The location could not have been any better. I would highly recommend this property to anyone visiting Highlands.
