Pear Tree Cottage is our dog friendly cabin in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina located between Boone and Blowing Rock. It has central air conditioning & heating and WiFi.

HOW DO WE KEEP OUR PRICE SO LOW? One day we'll retire here, for now we just cover our costs. Guests love not paying for any extras! We don't charge for Dogs. Tax is included. NO EXTRAS!

It has two bedrooms and two bathrooms and There is a queen Sleeper-Sofa in the living room.

There are cable TVs in each room as well as VCR/DVD and CD player. There are games (darts, jigsaw puzzles) books, video tapes, DVDs and CDs.

The kitchen is fully equipped and there is a washer and dryer in the laundry closet.

Although the cottage is set in the countryside, you will find excellent restaurants, shopping and activities very close by. The towns of Boone and Blowing Rock are only 10 minutes in either direction.

Access to Pear Tree Cottage is easy, it is located less than 200 yards off a scenic country road.

Flat Top Manor in Moses H. Cone Park (free admission) houses Southern Highland Craft Shop. Within walking distance is Yonahlossee Saddle Club offering short term livery (ask for details). For your and the children's enjoyment there is gem mining, Tweetsie Railroad and go-karts nearby. Behind the famous Mast General Store in Valle Cruses, you can rent a horse for a trail ride through the countryside. Appalachian State University offers summer concert series, Blowing Rock hosts Art in the Park several Saturdays through summer and early fall. Both Blowing Rock and Boone offer live theater performances and there is a fabulous farmers market in Boone!

Other Activities: Blue Ridge Parkway, Grandfather Mountain, Beech and Sugar Mountains, Appalachian State University, Flat Top Manor in Moses H. Cone Park-no adm. charge

    Add extra days to any week pro-rata.
    Extra weeks, after a month, are charged pro rata the monthly rate,not the weekly rate.

  • Having been in the holiday rental business for over 20 years, we know how important your holiday is. You work all year for it and it must be as perfect as possible. You may not be totally familiar with this area, so Mary and I would like to share information with you about our favorite fun spots, restaurants, etc. We would love for you to tell us of any new places you discover so that we can add them to the welcome packet for future guests!

  • The master suite features an antique claw footed bath tub with shower and a walk in closet. The second bedroom suite can be made up with a king sized bed or two twins. It has a walk-in shower and large closet. There is also a Queen-size sofa-bed in the living-room. Two sets of bed linens and towels are supplied for all of the above.

Excellent weekend - highly recommend!

Upon arrival, the cabin was immaculate. The housekeeper did a wonderful job of cleaning every nook and cranny. As mentioned in other reviews, the antique furniture was unique and beautiful. What isn't mentioned, and what really made our stay, were all of the small details such as:
-salt/pepper and other spices in the cabinet
-dish soap, laundry detergent
-high quality linens. The towels and bedding were fantastic!
-doggie door that exits to back (fenced in) porch area
-dartboard
-books, dvd, board games
-great array of cookware/utensils
-2 sledding discs in the garage area (we definitely used these in 1 inch of snow!)

The fireplace was awesome and we lit a fire each night. Tim and Mary did a great job of creating a little community among Pear Tree Cottage visitors and we really felt "at home" during our stay.

The location was awesome because it was in the hills and tucked away, yet only 10 minutes from ASU and the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Plan to go back again in warmer weather to kayak down the river. Thanks Tim and Mary for all you've done.

Everything was PERFECT! Beautiful cabin very clean with everything you could think of! You simply will not find anything near this nice any where around for this price. We were VERY surprised how nice the cabin is when we arrived. The pictures do not do it justice. A big thank you to Tim and Mary.

Wonderful Retreat!!!!!!

The pictures of Pear Tree Cottage do not do justice to this beautiful gem! My husband and I went to Boone to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and our daughter booked us this cottage. The cottage is beautiful and in a peaceful scenic location. I cannot express how much we enjoyed our time here. Sitting on the front porch watching the deer run up the hill across the street was almost magical.

It is a very short drive to skiing, snow tubing, zipline, and many other fantastic activities.

The cottage is clean and furnished with beautiful antiques. When you enter it feels cozy and like home. I would recommend it to all my friends and family. We will go back in the future.

Cozy, comfortable cottage

We spent a wonderful month of October at this well appointed cottage.
We slept six over a weekend and all bed linens and plenty of dishes were
provided. The housekeeper does a great job and all was ready for us to
walk in.
