Spend the mornings sipping your coffee on one of the porch swings while watching the hummingbirds dance their fanciful dance. A small spring fed creek provides a restful babble as it flows beside the master bedroom and the porch. During the day, there are streams to fish and swim in, trails to hike and water falls to discover. At night, the stars are right there ready to be plucked from the sky, and the slot machines at the casino are ready to be played. No matter what the time of day, or what the weather, there is always something to do. Even if it is just sitting back on the porch again, watching the view change.

There is always something to do! Tsali mountain biking; raft and kayak the Nantahala; tube Deep Creek; ride the Smokey Mountain Railroad in Bryson City; hike in the Smokey Mountain National Park; win big at the Casino in Cheroke; water sports on Lake Fontana; antique in Franklin, Bryson City, Dillsboro; Drive the Blue Ridge Parkway and have lunch at the Pisquah Inn; Visit the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, Gatlinburg, Pidgeon Forge, and Dollywood in TN; bike ride in Cades Cove looking for deer, turkey and bear; fly fish/fish the many streams in the area, especially in the Smokey Mountain National Park; and when you are tired and can go no more, there are all types of restaurants in nearby Bryson City.

Other Activities: Tubing, rafting, kayaking, casino, festivals, mineral/gem hunting, train tours, plays.

Deep Gap House

This house is perfect for those who want to have peace, quiet and spectacular sunsets. There is a large master bedroom with bath and a king sized bed which is extremely comfortable. The main bath has a washer & dryer- definite plus. Everything was clean and the kitchen is fully equipped. We've stayed there 3 times now and the owners (Mike & Kay) have been there quickly to replace a water filter and had a well pump fixed within a day. Can't say enough about how kind these people are. The property is 6 miles off the main road but easy to find with GPS or once you've been there. There is an open garage which we put our kayak/rafting equipment. This is a great location for us as it's between the Nantahala Outdoor Center and Bryson City. Rivers End at NOC, Jimmy Macs and Quabitos in Bryson City are good places to eat. NOC is great for rafting. Deep Creek is great for tubing and Fontana Lake is a dream to swim in. This by far is the most affordable and nicest places we've stayed at in the 13 years we've been coming up. We'll definitely be back to enjoy those beautiful views from the swings on the porch.

Great deal, wonderful place to stay!

We were very happy with our stay in this cabin. We were pleasantly surprised when we got there, the cabin was nicer than it looks in the pictures. Everything was very clean and well kept. The views from the front porch were beautiful. When we booked this cabin we were not sure if we wanted to stay in this area or a little closer to the park. We were very happy with our decision to stay in this area. Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and Cherokee were very commercial. Bryson City has enough to do, resturants, and a brewery while still being quite and relaxing. There are entrances to the national park nearby and the trails on the North Carolina side are not as busy as the ones near Gatlinburg. If you are looking for peace and quite - relaxation this is the place. The owners were very friendly and helpful. We hope to make a trip back again - maybe next year!!

Wonderul View

The deck on the cabin was awesome. The view each morning as we sat out there and ate breakfast was amazing. I think we spent more time on the porch than we did in the cabin.

The inside of the cabin is as pictured. It comfortably sleeps 4. The couch does fold out but would not be a comfortable place for anyone other than a small child.

We had a wonderful vacation and it was nice to have the cabin to come back to each evening. The kids enjoyed it and we look forward to many more vacations in the area.

Good transition spot for Smoky Moutain visit

The cabin is perfect for our stay. It is a bit rustic but has all the basic amenities we needed. It is truly a home away from home. The location is fantastic for our planned trip to visit the Smoky Mountain Park and the price is one of the best. May is very helpful for my last minute reservation and sending the directions, although I did not follow correctly! I would definitely recommended it to everybody. Why staying in a hotel when you can have this cabin to your own?

What a view!!!

I loved our cabin.We stayed for 9 days.It was very cozy and comfortable!My husband kids and I enjoyed the porch which is facing beautiful mountains and LOVED watching the sunrises and sunsets while swinging on the two front porch swings.We also all enjoyed watching the humming birds and other birds that was in the yard throughout the day.Like others said this cabin is off all main roads yet close enough to everything.I want to Thank Mike and Kay for telling us about Deep Creek Park the kids &my husband and I had a great time tubing down deep creek and looking at the waterfalls.FUN 4 every1!! We also enjoyed Cherokee which is only 10 miles away.The cabin was well stocked and well CLEAN!!!Thank you Mike & Kay 4 making us fill right at home.We plan 2 come back AGAIN AND AGAIN!!!
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children
