Wonderfully appointed approximately 750 sq ft. apartment in a beautiful 1907 craftsman style home. The house has views of Green Lake and is only a 30 second walk to the lake and park. Green Lake was voted “Best Place to People Watch” by local TV program Evening Magazine’s The Best of Western Washington and Northwest Escapes. The apartment is very private located in the basement with its own entry and closed off from the main house. It has high ceilings and many windows for abundant natural light. Sound board insulation is used throughout for a relaxing level of quietness. One bedroom has a queen bed and the other has two twin beds. Heated floors in the bathroom add an additional touch of luxury. The cozy living room is outfitted with a 32” High Def LCD flat screen TV. The kitchen is well equipped for your cooking needs and lets you live like a local or if you decide to go out the place is situated just a 5 minutes walk from restaurants, bars and cafes in both directions.
Residents also have access to the garden which includes a covered hot tub, fountain, Weber grill and grape vine covered pergola with dining table. The apartment is located 10 minutes north of downtown and within two minutes walk to bus lines 16, 316, and 48 for easy access to town. Seattle can definitely keep you busy and interested but you may want to explore and hike in the North Cascades and Mount Rainier National Parks where natural beauty abounds. Why wait? Let your Seattle experience be a truly cherished memory. (Je parle francais/Ich spreche deutsch/parlo Italiano)
I love living on Greenlake and the outstanding quality of life it affords. It is close to downtown to easily access the city's offerings and is a fairly short drive into the Cascade Mountains to enjoy nature. I hope my guests will enjoy the accommodations, location and all that Seattle has to offer.
The Owner purchased this apartment in 1999
We came back to Green Lake knowing we would have a great time. We crammed so much into our week, it's hard to believe it's over. Sydney LOVES the red blanket on the couch so we've decided to get her one of her own. Mt. Rainier was amazing and it seemed like we hiked for days. This house always welcomes us back. It's a great feeling.
My wife and I are in the process of moving to Seattle and needed a rental for a couple of months, and ended up staying in this apartment for close to three months. It was fantastic and you could not find a better host than Joe. My wife has a serious medical condition and he was caring and responsive. The apartment was very nice with all that we needed, great light, and right across the street from Green Lake. It is an ideal location, in close proximity to many restaurants, shops, and downtown. We would recommend this apartment and Joe to anyone!
We really enjoyed the rental on Green Lake. Joe was a great host!! The rental was perfect for what we needed and had all the amenities. We traveled with our two sons (12 and 10) and they loved being able to walk over to the lake and park. The patio out back was our little oasis and it was so nice to go out there in the morning with tea or after a day siteseeing. Parking was never an issue and the neighborhood was quiet. Can't say enough, we will definately be going back!
We stayed for 7 nights while on vacation- Parents and two teenage boys. The apartment was exactly as described. Joe, the owner, couldn't have been more hospitable even leaving a nice welcoming gift basket of treats for our arrival.
We have rented many houses and apartments through VRBO and this one stands out because of how well stocked it was. Coffee filters, sugar, laundry detergent, dishwashing liquid, garbage bags..all that annoying stuff you have to go out and buy right away were all provided.
The patio was great! Very private and pleasant with an awesome hot tub. We felt comfortable using everything including the BBQ grill when we weren't out and about as tourists.
The apartment is cozy. There are a few large egress type windows that provided a lot of light and ventilation.Very clean and well maintained with high end fixtures and finish.
The house is about 100 yards from the Green Lake path- less than 5 minute's walk to the boat rentals/ beach. Perfect location- close to the highway for the short drive into Seattle or beyond- Ferry, Mt. Rainer, Olympic National Park, San Juan Islands, Bainbridge Island. Again-a perfect location from which to see the Seattle area.
Joe provided excellent restaurant recommendations in his information packet- most within an easy walk.
Recommendation: Take the Ferry to Bainbridge Island and rent bikes for the day- great biking, restaurants and shopping.
Joe was an excellent host, full of great suggestions about things to do in the Seattle area. The location is ideal - across the street from Greenlake and easy parking on the street in front of his home. The apartment is spotless. I will stay here again...
Neighborhood Gym - only a 5 minute walk. The gym has day passes for a reasonable price and a multi-use pass for a further reduced price!
