We gathered here each year for our annual family beach getaway and absolutely LOVE it! Great layout, the owners are wonderful to work with. It's a nice walk to the beach, very close to the golf course and an easy walk or bike ride to the ice cream shop! We look forward to our stay each year and would highly recommend to anyone visiting.
It was a great home to spend a girls weekend! Very clean, lovely view and the owners were very easy to work with it.
Fantastic stay-we love the space and especially the kitchen and open floor plan! Very well done, higher end rental. Clean, well cared for and well outfitted for guests.
This property really is beautiful. We spent a week here with my family (me, husband, 12 yr old) and my brother's family (husband, wife, 5 year old and 2 year old). The beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms very nice. The kitchen is small with little counter/drawer space for food that you bring. We put all of our food in a hall closet not too far from kitchen. Seemed to work ok. The kitchen does not have many utensils so cooking was a little tricky. I would recommend bringing your own if you plan to cook a lot. There is a BBQ but no utensils for that either. Check the propane for BBQ before you start cooking as we found none and had to go fill the tank. If you are planning on bike riding there was one adult bike (not in great shape) and a toddler bike. No working bike pump so bring your own. If you rent just the main floor as we did it can get very noisy in the bedrooms. When the kids are up everyone is up. We did see herds of elk several times pass in front of the house which was amazing! We enjoyed the walk to town for ice cream/coffee but some may feel it's too far.
We were left with no extra keys and lots of glass bottles (beer/wine) from previous guests. You are supposed to take it to the recycling center apparently. We notified the owner and we were able to get extra house keys and the housekeeper came and took care of the glass.
The walk to the beach isn't bad from the house. Watch for elk droppings! Once you get to the sand though it's very steep to get down/up. Also, if you stay at this end of the beach you will have lots of car traffic on beach. We had to watch the little ones and move our sand play several times. Due to this, I would recommend staying further down the beach where cars can't drive if you plan on being down at the beach a lot.
A great week at the Oregon Coast!
I would absolutely recommend this property! My family stayed during my daughters wedding time. The home is lovely enough for bridal photos and comfy enough for grandkids! Her wedding and reception was at the Sand Trap and could not have been nicer! The wedding shifted from the beach to the covered area due to rain.... without a hitch.... staff could not have been kinder or more helpful! I hope I get to come back and enjoy this beautiful little coastal town!
Our book club had a FABULOUS time in Gearhart!! The beautiful accommodations were perfect for the seven of us ladies. The house has a bright and open living space with its large windows facing the wonderful view. The location is perfect!! Gearhart is such a lovely quiet coast town. We even saw a deer in the early morning hours walking by the back patio. In town we ate at McMenamins Sand Trap and Pacific Way Café & Bakery both were excellent. We enjoyed a walk on the beach which is a short and direct path from the house. For shopping we drove to nearby Cannon Beach and Seaside. I would highly recommend this lovely home for your next coastal getaway!!
