Photos and Description of the Torch Lake vacation cottage rental
1 bedroom, 1 full bathroom, sleeps 6

Our cozy family cottage has 100' of private waterfront on beautiful Torch Lake. The cottage has housed our family visits to Torch Lake for generations, and we'd like to share our little escape with others. Torch Lake is considered one of the most beautiful lakes in the world and with one look into the crystal clear blue water you'll see why. We are fortunate to have a very gradual increase in depth for several hundred feet out into the water, creating a striking sight where the drop-offs signal the deeper blue depths of Torch. We have a dock that extends almost 90' out to the lake, with a 12'x12' platform at the end for enjoying some time in the sun. At the end of the dock it's not even 3' deep! Just down the road is the Torch River Bridge, near the famous Torch Lake Sandbar and Torch River. Just across the lake is the town of Alden. The cottage has recently undergone significant renovations, completely modernizing the kitchen, bathroom, and living areas

Golf Information: There are a number of top golf courses in the area, including designs by Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, and Gary Player. Some of the more popular locations include Shanty Creek Resorts with 'The Legend', designed by Arnold Palmer, as well as 3 other courses and Grand Traverse Resort & Spa with 'The Bear' by Jack Nicklaus and 'The Wolverine' by Gary Player.

Boating Information: Torch Lake is a great place to water-ski, go tubing, and do all sorts of other water sports. We have a 90'' long dock that can be used to access boats, although the water is still shallow at the end! Public accesses are close by. Please be considerate of the tranquil peace enjoyed by many during the dawn and dusk hours. Note: We do not have a boat lift or mooring anchor available. Local nearby marinas offer overnight slip and trailered storage options that our guests have used and we can guide you to them.

Area Festivals: Harbor Days --- Interlochen Summer Arts Festival --- Petoskey Festival on the Bay --- Suttons Bay Art Festival --- Northport-Leelanau Peninsula Wine And Food Festival --- Suttons Bay Jazzfest --- Charlevoix Venetian Festival --- just to name a few!!

Notes: Brand new kitchen! Completely Renovated June 2009. All wood floors in the kitchen/main room have been refinished. All new kitchen cabinets, large kitchen island with seating, and counter tops. All new appliances: range, microwave, and fridge. New sink & fixtures. Cabinets and island were installed with very custom & professional wood trim work. We accomplished a lot that Spring (new kitchen, new bathroom, painted outside, refinished floors, new furnishings, etc). We've spent a lot of time and effort to modernize the property and make it a fantastic getaway destination. Everything was done with the highest care for quality craftsmanship and it shows!! We also have a private dock (almost 90' long!) right outside our front door with a large 12'x12' platform at the end. Note: Fireplace is not to be used at this time. No mooring anchor/boat lift available; local overnight boat dockage nearby.

Our family stayed here for five days and we loved every moment. The pictures do not do this family owned cabin justice. You will be amazed at the quaintness and tranquility that this home provides. We enjoyed sleeping with the doors open to enjoy the sounds of the water lapping at the rocks. WOW what an enjoyable nights sleep. Our children loved sitting on the dock looking for rocks and using their raft. The water was a bit cold but we knew this coming in June. The owner is very nice and enjoyed knowing that this is a family cabin from the 1930's Our children were not ready to leave. If you decide to rent this cabin know you will NOT be disappointed. Very clean and nicely kept.
