We're a family of 8 raising our 5 boys and a girl here on 20+ acres in Dripping Springs. We love the outdoors and the farm life and welcome your family to come and enjoy our little slice of the TX Hill Country.
Why they chose this property
The Crooked Cottage at Whispering Oaks Farm is a quaint 2 bedroom one bathroom cottage that is perfect for 6. Fully renovated in 2020, this space is perfect for a weekend getaway or a week-long vacation.
The cottage is nestled under some amazing oaks in a park-like setting with views of the beautiful pastures on our family farm. It has a fully stocked kitchen ready for a the family chef to whip up a gourmet meal for 6. The ceilings in the cottage are vaulted giving it a spacious feel. The bedroom ceilings have are natural tongue and groove pine, bringing the beauty of nature inside.
The coffee bar in the cottage consists of a Keurig brewer with coffee pods and "the fixins" for a quick coffee, as well as an assortment of slower brewing devices for the more passionate coffee goers. In the 100-year-old hutch, you’ll find a french press, a pour-over with a washable filter, and an electric grinder. The circa 1900’s gooseneck kettle is on the stove. Coffee beans for serious coffee connoisseurs are available **BUT YOU MUST LET US KNOW YOU'D LIKE COFFEE BEANS** in the cabin or else we'll assume you're going with the Keurig pods. We'll supply 2oz of beans per person, per day - enough for either a 6 cup chemex or 32 oz press, and have additional coffee available for purchase for $20 per 12oz bag.
Step out of the front door and you are immediately in a park-like setting just steps away from a huge fire pit and farm-style picnic tables that are nestled under a convoy of outdoor lights. The bbq pit is close by for those grill-out nights under the stars. There is a bench swing right off the patio for those Texas breezes. And we do get a breeze here. Every day is filled with a gentle cross breeze providing a pleasurable outdoor experience.
Across the drive, and when they are in the right pasture, you will be greeted with the friendly faces of our mini and classic Herefords. Don’t miss your photo opportunity with these gentle ladies.
