Luxury relaxation at its best!

We rented this villa for our easter holiday break for the family (group of 10 including 2 small children), and we stayed for 8 days (April 1-8, 2012). Upon arrival to the villa, we were all in awe with the beauty of it, the elegant open spaces, and just the general feel of the place. The villa is truly beautiful, and it is true that the pictures do not do it justice. Upon arrival we were greeted by Francisco, the villa butler/waiter, who helped us bring the luggage in and get settled. We were soon introduced to Dulce, the villa cook, who was also wonderful and an artist at cooking up whatever we asked for. The attention given to us by the villa staff was outstanding, and we basically did not have to do anything but relax and enjoy. Dinner was always served in the formal dining room, and everything was so nicely presented that it was a pleasure to stay in for dinner rather than going out to any restaurant. The villa owners, David and Kathleen Black, who live within the Casa de Campo Resort, are also the owners of Papa Jack's restaurant in Altos de Chavon and they always got us the best quality ingredients for whatever we wanted cooked up at the villa.
David and Kathleen were great, they stopped in periodically to make sure everything was going well, and they are both very nice, professional people.
The villa is HUGE, rooms are spacious, furniture is beautiful...what can I say, hard to beat.
Only one setback during our stay - the pool skimmer system was broken, so there was always a little film of leaves and dust on the water that made the pool unattractive. So most of us did not even go into the pool, which is a shame because the pool is beautiful. The very large jacuzzi was working great though, and we all enjoyed that.
Also highly recommended - rent a golf cart or two while you are there. Casa de Campo is just beautiful and huge - you can literally go on a golf cart for half an hour in one direction and still be within the resort - so it is really fun to drive around and admire the beautiful scenery and the impressive houses all around. If you are planning on leaving the resort, you will need a car, though.
We are not golfers, but these golf courses are some of the best in the world. And there is a very nice private beach club accessible by golf cart, with all the facilities you will need.
We would definitely go back and we certainly recommend the villa to anyone considering Casa de Campo for their vacation.
