This is a very romantic cabin, and is popular with honeymooners and those in love. Paved road leading to the property, with absolute quiet a mainstay of this property. Our cabin is located directly in the heart of the Smoky Mountains, with gorgeous views of the mountains of the state park as you drive to the home. Within minutes of the property are opportunities for fly-fishing, tubing, shopping, Dollywood theme parks, and the entrance to the National Park. There are many festivals in the area, along with scenic drives, and beautiful vistas everywhere. For the motorcycle enthusiasts, the dragon tail begins only a few short miles from the cabin--be careful!!

Surrounding Area Details: Enjoy, as we have the ultimate solitude and quiet of the mountains. As you drive up to the property, you are greeted by the view of The Smoky Mountain National Park, with one of the most scenic views of the mountains framing the Park. Each night, you are able to listen to the quiet of the wind in the trees, and yet know that you are only 15 minutes from the attractions in Pigeon Forge, and less than 30 minutes from Gatlinburg, TN. The start of the infamous Dragon's Tail motorcycle road is only 10 miles from our home, and Cades Cove, the most visited area of the National Park is located only 20 minutes from the cabin. For shopping, the outlets and stores of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg offer distinct bargains, and multiple theme parks and interests for the children are there as well. Enjoy the over 900 miles of trails for hiking,ranging from strenuous to mild ( our favorite)...If you prefer to gamble, Cherokee, N.C. is about an hour away, and hosts the Harrah's Cherokee North Carolina.

Honeymooners and lovers: Our cabin is spacious, with over 1,700 square feet. The fireplace is stone, wood burning, and very romantic. We offer a whirlpool tub just off the master bedroom, with the shower and two sink top, located on the other side of the room. We also have a wonderful jacuzzi that faces the mountains and seats 4-6, depending on how friendly you are! The kitchen is fully stocked, and you have both a pool table and satellite tv, if you desire them. We have hosted a few weddings and a lot of honeymoons, and if you need additional services, such as massage services, we will be happy to try to accommodate you, if we are able. There are wonderful places to eat, either in Townsend, 3 miles away, or in Pigeon Forge, 15 minutes away. We always recommend Grandmother's Kitchen, located in Wears Valley, on the way to Pigeon Forge--for breakfast or lunch, it cannot be beat (ask for the chicken). If you are on a romantic weekend, you will enjoy our love shack..( B-52,s)

Romantic Weekend

My husband and I stayed at this cabin for a weekend in late October. The cabin was very romantic and cozy. We loved the hot tub overlooking the mountain view. The interior of the cabin was extremely clean. I did not find one speck of dirt in the place! The pool table was alot of fun. Overall, I definately reccommend staying here. My husband and I had a wonderful weekend rekindling our romance. We are already planning to come back.Thanks!!!

We've been to the mountains the last few years. This is the best place we've stayed....And you couldn't ask for better hosts than Ray and Angie.
We intend to be here again next year.

What a wonderful experience. We loved this cabin. Ray & Angie are great owners and wonderful to work with. We stayed for 6 nights on our honeymoon and everything was great!! The location was very nice. Out of town a little ways but not so far that it made for a long journey. Has a few neighboring cabins but still feels very private. The view of the mountains was great too! Could not have asked for a better rental experience!!! We can hardly wait to go back!!!! Thank you Ray & Angie for sharing your wonderful cabin with us!!!

What a Cabin!!!

We arrived at "Mountain Dew" after driving 12 hours from Florida to enjoy the peacful side of the smokies. When we opened the doors to this cabin, I was blown away by the beauty, view, and comfort offered. The cabin was far above our expectations and offered all the amenities that a week stay might require.
The cabin is situated very close to a back entrance into the Smoky Mountain National Park and to Cades Cove. We were fortunate to have great weather during our week stay. My wife was initially skeptical about taking a trip to Tennessee for vacation. I think she began to quickly realize why I took her here. The entire cabin was very clean and well maintained. Fresh towels and soap were available upon our arrival.
The cabin is situated near the top of a peaceful road. There was very little traffic if any. I spoke directly with the owners a couple of days before we left and they we extremely helpful in providing fun ideas for outdoor activities and attractions. I have already recommended the cabin to family and co-workers as a place to stay in the future. If I remember correctly, there is a grocery store called, "Village Market IGA" in Townsend (3-4 miles drive) that has all the groceries you would ever need, and the pricing is not that bad. We certainly look forward to staying at Mountain Dew in the future, when we decide to visit the smokies next. Enjoy! - Joe & Ann

Paradise with a view

WOW - what a great cabin! Having stayed in a few other log cabins over the years, I really wasn't expecting something this nice. If you are interested in a very quiet place that is very close to Cades Cove (about 7 miles) and just far enough away from the madness of Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg (15 - 20 miles), this is the place. The porch looking out over the valley is a perfect place to kick back with a book and a glass of wine, or soak in the hot tub. The cabin was spotless, completely modern, and fully stocked with everything we needed (dishes, towels, gas grill, etc.).

Ray, the owner, was incredibly responsive and helpful with suggestions. He even followed up after our rental just to make sure it all went fine - a first in my house renting experience.

As far as things to do in the area, hiking and photography in the national park is a must. We got up close and personal with a number of black bears. Tubing down the river just a couple miles below the house also looked like a lot of fun. We also took a 1.5 hour drive to go river rafting down the upper Pigeon River with Smoky Mountain Outdoors (I also highly recommend them) - a great trip for the inexperienced to moderate level rafter (no worries about the class 4 rapids - they seemed more like class 3 rapids based on previous rafting trips).

Overall, the house and this area of TN are fantastic if you want a low-key relaxing vacation.
