Guestbook comments from the owner
We enjoyed our stay in your warm, comfortable cabin. Thank you for the perfect place to stay. This is our second time to this cabin and we brought friends with us this year. Our friends agree with the beautiful setting and enjoyed the creek, deer and turkeys. Thank you.

GREAT PLACE TO STAY

  • 5 of 5
Thank you for sharing your cabin with us. It was a convenient location for us to bring our two teenage grandsons hiking, whitewater rafting on the Arkansas River, and visiting Bishops Castle. The cabin was clean and well stocked with all of the essentials and then some. The arrangements for renting we're effortless, and the owner was very easy to work with. I particularly appreciated his calls to me to confirm our arrival and offer their help if we needed anything. I would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone wanting to enjoy the beautiful outdoors of Colorado!

QUIET AND SECLUDED

  • 5 of 5
Well kept house and property in a small, quiet wooded community. The stream runs close to the house providing a pleasant background noise for sleeping with the windows open. Although the property is in the wooded foothills, it is a reasonably short and direct drive to Westcliffe and Rosita (with the Letter Drop Restaurant, which shouldn't be missed). The property owners (Gary and Marilyn) were responsive, helpful and very pleasant to deal with. Definitely a property we would stay at again.

CABIN IN LUSH MOUNTAIN COUNTRY

  • 5 of 5
Our adult children and we found this getaway perfect in every way. After five days camping in the beautiful Wet Mountains and the Sangre de Cristos, it offered us the clean-up and game-playing venue we needed. The house is more beautiful than the pictures, with the inside golden knotty pine walls perfect for a cabin in the woods. And it is definitely in the woods and off the beaten track. It is in a small secluded country community, lush and heavily wooded, and the cabin itself is off the unpaved road up a hundred yards or so on a dirt driveway. Due to the trees and the quiet, we hardly even noticed the other houses in the community. The creek behind was natural and bubbled us to sleep at night. The Broad-tailed Hummingbird nesting close by provided close-up photo ops from a deck chair, and the local Hermit Thrush and Cordilleran Flycatcher family were constant companions. We enjoyed the grill, the comfortable living area and table. We had everything we needed in the kitchen and the rest of the house, and are grateful to the owners for the opportunity to enjoy this cabin in the woods with our loved ones. We hope to be back!

COOL AND RELAXING!

  • 4 of 5
Our family really needed a break from busy-ness and the heat. We were able to relax and regroup in your beautiful cabin. The kitchen and living area were incredible - we felt right at home. You thought of everything! Thank you for coming and filling the propane for the grill. We appreciated that. We enjoyed opening the windows and listening to the stream, plus the air was refreshing and cool. We watched a hummingbird and her nest right outside the door, and we truly had a great time as a family - playing games and cards, and just reading and sleeping a lot.
The very next day after we got home, we recommended the cabin to a friend. We will continue to do so. Thanks, too, for sending us the pillow we forgot. You are the best!
