Great Hideway Any Time of Year

My family and I just returned from a rejuvenating Fourth of July weekend spent at this lovely cottage in Cushing. We've been having a lot of rain lately and, sadly, the majority of the weekend was no exception.
Thankfully, we'd found this little refuge from the city and enjoyed its cheerfull wood burning stove on those cold, rainy days and nights (thanks to a well-stocked supply of firewood). On the days the weather was nice, it was an easy trip into Thomaston, which is very close by. We enjoyed plenty of time letting our dog romp at the cottage in the grass in the wild-flower-filled, huge yard and along the banks of the St George River (a great place to procure some fresh shellfish at low tide, if you're not afraid to get a little muddy!)
Mim, the owner, could not be more friendly and easy to coordinate with! The cottage is equipped with speakers throughout -- Mim left a fire burning and beautiful classical music on the radio -- the perfect start to a relaxing rainy afternoon!
We'll definitely be back and, while we initially found this place for a summer weekend getaway, we can't wait to try it out for the fall, where it'll surely be a lovely place to take in some foliage while enjoying some R&R.
It's a great, secluded spot that's still close to town and offers all the amenities you need while giving you that feeling of being in a rustic hideaway in Maine!
