Beauty of Honduras

The main residence has old Florida charm flavour, with big, cozy porch, beautiful views over matured sky-rocketing tropical trees and landscaped gardens.Lovely personality touch in everything on property makes you feel “at home”. Rooms are just the right size, beds are comfy, bathrooms are clean (as the rest of the property), beach is clean and secluded with grey sand and localized ocean pebbles. It was unforgettable to spend the sundown on the beach – with Honduran mountains towering behind the sea waters and tranquility of jungle surroundings. With small village nearby, it is very convenient to drive bikes (provided by the owner) to local stalls for standard purchases (like rice, eggs, bread, sugar, etc.). For more sophisticated shopping, you can use a car with chauffer provided by villa’s owner and drive to Omoa or Puerto Cortes. We preferred our rented car just for the sake of freedom and convenience of exploring the country on our own. There is a good fish market in Puerto Cortes, where you can buy catch of the day by local fishermen. On the opposite side of the road there is an entrance to Jungle Reserve. Swimming in cold waters of jungle fall was so rewarding, that we came back next day (it is within walking distance). Send kids and your husband to the zip-line (at the higher point of the mountain) and wait for them by the waterfall (1.5-2 hours). On the deck-bridge over the river, just opposite the fall, practice your asanas and experience the light of the nature. Or just relax and enjoy the quietness of jungle.
Special thanks to people at the villa. We had a guard (who was on duty all the time, but respectfully managed to be out of our sight and magically appeared when called), chauffer and housemaid. I was impressed by amount of work done by our housemaid! She cooked, cleaned, washed, etc. for 15 people and always smiled! To my immense pleasure – she doesn’t speak English!!! Perfect situation for practicing your Spanish -complete immersion. Her cooking and catering skills are superb! Ask for Honduran fish soup (!..), or mashed potato with baked parmesan topping, or even for her advice on what she can present for dinner – she is full of knowledgeable ideas!
Steam sauna was very relaxing. Pool by the side of sauna is fed by spring water. Visit restaurant of nearby hotel, great food, my only complaint is size of serving - it is too big. Very pleasant stay, kind, open-hearted Honduran people. Beautiful country.
