Boaters heaven:
The chain of lakes makes Torch Lake, a boaters dream come true!! Torch Lake is connected by rivers to Lake Bellaire, Clam Lake, Lake Skegemog, and Elk Lake. At the South end of Torch Lake there is the worlds famous sand bar. The water level at the sandbar ranges from waist to only ankle deep. On a hot summer day there our hundreds of boats anchored at the sand bar. A fun place to wade in the water, play Frisbee, throw a football or just enjoy a cold beverage. Restaurants, snack bar and fuel are all close by.

1.Charlevoix (fantastic shops/restaurants/main street with breathtaking lake views);
2. Bellaire (Shanty Creek Resort & Schuss Mountain. Excellent locations for world class golf courses and challenging ski slopes in the winter.
3. Elk Rapids (charming downtown/restaurants). Only 10 min. from the cottage. Fantastic marina and restaurants
4. Traverse City is 40 min. from the cottage. You will find all your shopping needs in this fastest growing resort city in Michigan.
