|Minimum Stay||3 nights|
Neat and sunny furnished one-bedroom apartment with full kitchen, separate dining and living room, TV cable and telephone service, WiFi, laundry and courtyard. Each apartment is fully furnished with housewares, utensils, linens—everything you need to live comfortably from the moment you arrive. Apartment available for short- and long-term rental.
The apartment is located one block north of the University of California, Berkeley campus and the shuttle bus to Lawrence Berkeley Lab. Walk to grocery stores, shops, banks, post office, public transportation and Berkeley's famous 'Gourmet Ghetto.' Minutes from San Francisco and other tourist attractions.
Location, location, location!. Arguably one of the best places to live--anywhere. This neighborhood of tree-lined streets north of the UC Berkeley campus is defined by Shattuck Avenue and its wealth of great restaurants. The world-renowned Chez Panisse restaurant anchors the neighborhood, as does the wildly popular Cheese Board Pizza and the original Peet's Coffee. Just above Shattuck, in the lower Berkeley hills, it is possible to live in a home (that is visited by deer) with sweeping views of San Francisco, the San Francisco Bay, and the Golden Gate and Bay Bridges and still be able to walk to shops, restaurants, schools, and bus stops. Downtown Berkeley, with its art, film, theater, and music district is 15 minutes or less south of the Gourmet Ghetto by foot. Dinner at Chez Panisse, a concert at Freight & Salvage, and a short walk back home--life doesn’t get much better than this!
UCB one block from the Oxford Apartments, BART station about 10 minutes walk,
I recently stayed at this apartment for close to two weeks. Ada made us feel very welcome and was very accommodating to me and my 3 children. Before going there, I felt a little worried, in a different location, just with my children, but ada made me feel very secure about our whole experience in Berkeley. Location was fantastic, close to Gourmet Ghetto and the Farmer's Market. Very convenient location and cozy. It was a home away from home. Thank you ada for a wonderful stay!

This apartment was exactly as advertised. Ada allowed us to check in early and check out late to support our travel requirements.
We were pleasantly surprised how quiet the apartment was considering how close it is to downtown Berkeley.
It is an easy walk to the campus, stores and lots of great restaurants. We stayed eight days as we visited the area. We will stay there again in the future.
I stayed for four nights in this apartment while visiting my daughter. The photos are true to the comfortable set-up of the rental, which is one of four apartments, and is located on the first floor. The apartment is clean and well-maintained with plenty of room for travelers' personal items. The courtyard is beautiful, private to the apartments, and has a securely locked gate. We weren't able to hear the neighbors at all except for footsteps from the apartment above us, but that is to be expected. The biggest strength of the home is its location. You can easily walk the downtown Berkeley area and walk to the Berkeley campus or take the bus anywhere you like.
Ada was friendly and accommodating. She even drove over to let me into the house when I locked myself out! She goes out of her way to make sure you are comfortable!
The only drawbacks are that Oxford is a very busy street, which makes it too noisy to open the windows to let the breeze blow through. Also, if you do have a car, you must part on the street which is somewhat challenging, especially if you get home later in the evening, as there are limited spots outside the apartments. You will still get a spot, but it might be quite far away. Ada does provide you with parking passes, which is helpful.
This was our third stay with Oxford Properties. Manager (Ada) is a lovely person, easy to communicate with, prompt. The apartment feels like home. Super location, nice Berkeley charm, much better than a motel, though a little more expensive. Neighbors upstairs had a noisy child who thumped on floor (running around?) but otherwise all was really great. I recommend this place highly.
We had a wonderful,stay here in this charming apartment in the heart of Berkekly. We had a rental car but, it really wasn't necessary as there is so much to do and see within walking distance. The place was very clean and had lots of charm and personality. We loved it! Will come back as soon as possible! Ada and Octavio are a pleasure to work with. Highly recommend all their apartments. Would love to stay longer next time. Thank you Ada!
One block from the University of California, Berkeley, North Berkeley, also called the Gourmet Ghetto, is centered along Shattuck north of University. It is considered the birthplace of innovative California cuisine. This movement was led by Alice Waters of Chez Panisse, a restaurant that continues to thrive to this day.
And if that isn’t enough there is a weekly farmer’s market and annual North Berkeley Spice of Life Festival.
Of course, there’s no shortage of shopping in the neighborhood, with Walgreens Pharmacy, North Berkeley Wine, Vintage Berkeley (in the historic Vine Street pumping plant), , and plenty of groceries (Andronico’s and Safeway are both in the neighborhood). Stop for a coffee at the very first location of Peet’s.
Several culinary destinations have risen up around Waters’ famous restaurant, including César, the Cheese Board Collective and Cheese Board Pizza, Cioccolata Di Vino, the Juice Bar Collective and Cha Am. New, savory experiences include take out from Gregoire and Poulet, Brazillian food at Café de la Paz, a good old Jewish deli at Saul’s, cooking classes at Kitchen on Fire, delicious pastries at Masse's, cupcakes at Love At First Bite, vegan sushi at Cha Ya and Berkeley’s version of a food court, Epicurious Garden.
