mountain getaway

  • 5 of 5

Our family was there to celebrate my granddaughter's birthday. She wanted to stay in a cabin on Mt. Lemmon for her birthday so we decided to try this one! Even though we had hoped for snow and did not have any that weekend, it was still a really nice weekend stay! The cabin was very spacious to accommodate us all and everything worked properly and we had everything we needed for our stay. We rode the ski lift and visited the shops that were near by. We were not strangers to the mountain but it was such a beautiful cabin and very enjoyable. We are looking forward to staying there again soon!

We dont recomend it look for something else

  • 1 of 5

Family with children arriving at night and finding a plague of mice everywhere, also mice droppings, dirty fridge, dirty dining chairs, the sofa bed and some mattresses in disrepair, dirty sheets, the door knob fall to just touch

The mice dropping were found all over the cabin to include the kitchen drawers and on top of the counters. We had to clean the kitchen and the fridge before we were able to use it.

We do not have answer from the renter since we leave the house, no help no nothing.

This is unacceptable when you are paying hundreds of dollars a night to rent a property.

We feel that we were completely taken advantage of and We would not recommend this property!

So much fun!

  • 5 of 5

I went up at the end of July for a weekend retreat with a few friends and had a FABULOUS time. We are actually planning another weekend this January.

Honestly, we were a bit wary from reading the most recent review, but our stay completely changed our minds! The cabin was spotless and had no pest problems that I was aware of. Which is surprising since it's in the woods! I was expecting some sort of furry guest..

Kitchen was fully stocked - pots, pans, dishes, silverware - the whole shebang. The bathrooms had plenty of towels and lots of bedding. It was nice not having to bring extra everything which I have had to do with other rentals.

The only thing that I noticed is that the driveway to the cabin is very steep. I was able to get up and down just fine in my small car, however when we decide to come back up, I'll probably bring my truck.

There are also a ton of trails nearby and even more within a 5 minute drive. However, our favorite was sitting out on that deck and checking out all the stars. I have never seen so many in my life!

Management was great, very friendly and accommodating. - Overall, I would definitely recommend this place for a fun weekend getaway.

don't do it!

  • 1 of 5

upon arrival, upstairs toilet had to be plunged. Shower water pressure unacceptable ( almost a drip at full throttle), ants everywhere on first floor, floors had not been swept, mousetraps everywhere, kitchen stove and oven were filthy, kitchen utensils were of VERY poor quality for cost of rental. It was very difficult to reach the property manager with these issues. She responded > 24 hours after multiple attempts to contact her. Our party of three ended up leaving a day early, as the accommodations and lack of amenities were not worth the excessive cost. Most important to know: the property is NOT ACCESSIBLE by vehicle and the walk to the cabin was over uneven, rough terrain. Anyone with the slightest of health problems would not be able to reach the cabin ( i.e. any respiratory, back, or orthopedic problems. An elderly person would not be able to reach the cabin). In addition, NO TV, no washer, no grill. The listing did not accurately reflect the actual property

Owner's Response: We sincerely apologize that your stay was unsatisfactory. Our cleaning crew had not informed us of missing the date to clean our cabin. We have since replaced them for a more reliable company. When we met the tenant to discuss the situation, most of these issues were not mentioned. We reimbursed the tenant for a full nights stay, as an apology for the state of the cabin. We discussed the ants and the cleaning company, and had a pleasant parting. I wish these other things had been addressed in person, however we still do appreciate your feedback so we can correct our mistakes and make sure future tenants have a pleasant stay. We have since amended the following: - No more ants! - The driveway was excavated and redone to make sure it is more easily accessible. - Water pressure works! - The TV's and DVD player are in working order, however we have cancelled cable due to lack of use. - Washer and dryer work! - Hired a more reliable cleaning company to maintain the cabin. Again we appreciate the feedback, and apologize for the inconveniences. We look forward to making sure future renters have a pleasant stay in our home.

Had a wonderful stay at the cabin. I took my wife and daughter. Fireplace works amazing don't even need the heaters on with the fireplace going heats the whole cabin great. Cabin is close by Summerhaven and plenty of hiking trails near by. Cabin has plenty of room for everyone. Hope to go back soon. Definitely enjoy it's only about an hour from my house.
