Grand Bahama Vacation Rental studio

My wife and I rented the small cottage at Diamonds by the Sea. Everything was exactly as I saw and read from the website. Gayle, our host was excellent and helpful from day one. She told us everything we needed to know to maneuver on the island. She went above and beyond the call of duty in assisting us in going to the best places to eat and spend our time when not at the cottage. Zorba's, and the Bell Channel Island restaurants are a must. There is also Bertha's which is a five minute walk from the house.

The cottage was clean and the bed was comfortable. You need to be creative when cooking. You have an electric burner, and microwave, and toaster over, with a gas grill outside. This was used to create some fantastic meals.


The ocean is a stones throw away and we had the best morning walks and romantic times at the ocean. The beach area is close, clean, and beautiful. Not a day went by when we did not go to see the fantastic view. The landscaping at the house was beautiful. There may be other families staying at the other houses yet the landscaping gives each family privacy.

You need to bring your own snacks, whatever food, and beverages you can. Food is expensive in the local grocery stores, so is beer.

While the house is only about five miles from Port Lucaya, I do suggest renting a car to see some of the other attractions on the island. Taxis are available, and some know Diamonds by name and you may get a reduced rate. One of the most striking things we noticed was everyone we met was kind and courteous to us. The island is clean and virtually crime free. Never did we feel threatened or worried about going anywhere.

I would definitely come back and will be bringing friends and family to experience the island paradise!
