This little Rockaway Beach vacation cottage is big on style and amenities but light on your wallet! A great home base for your next beach adventure, you'll enjoy bright, fun colors and a convenient location right in the middle of it all -- on the west side of Highway 101, and only about a block from over seven miles of flat, sandy beach.
This is no boring hotel room. The living room, kitchen, and dining room are light and open, with hardwood flooring throughout and a fun, retro feel. When you're not out beachcombing, you'll feel happy and right at home in this space. After a long walk on the beach, relax, put your feet up on the cushioned ottoman, make some snacks, and watch a DVD on the flat screen TV.
Speaking of snacks, the full kitchen is completely equipped with all the appliances and gadgets needed for meals anytime. After a full day's adventures, there's no need to make a reservation or decide on a restaurant -- just visit the grocery store across the street and whip up a completely satisfying meal in your own kitchen! There's even a tea kettle, toaster, and coffeemaker for a quick breakfast before heading out to the shore for more fun.
At night, the separate bedroom has a comfortable queen sized bed, with bright floral bedding, 50s style bedside tables, and reading lamps. The large full bath is right off the bedroom, and has lots of shelving for toiletries and a shower/tub combo.
Up to four people and one pet (with a $10 per day fee) can comfortably stay in this space. Other amenities include WiFi and cable TV.
Please note that this home is a two-level property, with each level rented separately; Jody's Getaway is located on the first floor only. Since there no stairs at the entrance or throughout this home, it's easy for everyone to navigate.
Due to the historic train that passes nearby the home, it's not the quietest or most secluded getaway, but is perfectly located for those who want to be in the center of quaint Rockaway Beach! You'll be within a quarter mile of popular festivities like the kite festival, Pirates' Week, and have a front-row view for the annual 4th of July parade. Walk to antique stores, pick up some saltwater taffy for later, and finish the afternoon with a cappuccino. If you're feeling adventurous, there's even boating, fishing and crabbing opportunities close by.
Along the beach to the south of town, you can check out the iconic Twin Rocks, two sea stacks formed by erosion many millions of years ago. Be sure to bring your camera to capture a beautiful sunset image featuring this geologic wonder. But really, your favorite vacation activity just might be lounging out on the beach, digging your toes down into the warm sand, and watching the waves.
There's just so much personality at this fun little cottage! A perfect choice for a couple, friends, or a small family, visit Rockaway Beach and be in the middle of everything at Jody's Cottage.
