The apartment is perfect for a couple. The downtown location is perfect for walking to all shopping and city attractions. Street parking is simple for rental car excursions. The apartment is a 10-minute walk to the domestic bus terminal and a 20-minute walk to the domestic airport terminal, and a 10 minute walk to the nearest public thermal pool. There are many independently-owned cafes in the neighborhood. Still, it's quite easy to get outside of town and into the countryside.
Reykjavik is a charming city year round.
We live in both Lenox, Massachusetts and in Reykjavik.

We first visited Iceland in 1999, enjoyed the quality of life there, made friends, and bought the apartment. We like being able to walk everywhere downtown.
The thermal swimming pools, the local fish market, the clean environment, the tap water, natural attractions and city attractions.
Me and my husband visited Reykjavik for a 10 days. This apartment was really great. It was complete with all the conveniences which made it feel like home.
The location is perfect, close to shops, restaurants, bars, bakeries, even an excellent fishmonger. Special thanks to Scott for all his recommendations and assistance, we'd definitely recommend it to everyone visiting Iceland.
Hits the nail on the head with location and walking to so many venues. The location is great enough to forego a rental car, unless you're using it to leave the Reykjavik area. Though a little practice will get you the ins and outs of driving and parking in the neighbourhood, the parking spots can be at a premium depending on the time of day.
The apartment was indeed clean and maintained, but as with all homes in the area the building is old so don't expect 21st century updates. The kitchen was nifty and came in very handy; it's nice to buy basics from the nearby Bonus shop (especially for breakfast) and save money eating a few meals in when you need some down time. All the appliances we used worked with no problem, and though always a personal preference, the bed/mattress were in good shape and we slept fine.
The owner was communicative with emails, flexible with logistics, and accommodating with our small departure issue. Take a copy of the directions and the photos (for visual reference) and locating the apartment will be easy. My girlfriend and I would definitely recommend this to any friend.
Nearby recommendations: Bonus shop, Noodle Station and Babalu's Cafe all within a few minutes. If you're not using a car, Reykjavik Excursions out of the BSI terminal 5 to 10 minutes walk offers plenty if you don't mind riding the bus (which you probably did to get here from Keflavik). Look for online discounts.

I had never been to Iceland, never really thought about going to Iceland, but what a magical place and this apartment is a perfect place to get settled and learn about the city. Eveyrhting is close, grocery store, main shopping and cultural attractions, a charming caterer around the corner with mouth watering smells daily. Great little restaurant around the corner and a perfect little square to sit in the sun or have an evening glass of wine or morning coffee. The apt is really clean, has a great kitchen and incredibly comfy bed in a quiet little neighborhood. I would stay here again in a heartbeat! I was traveling alone and felt totally safe and peaceful.
This apartment is nice and clean with modern appliances and the description is very accurate. The location can't be beat and is clean and well-maintained. Owner was very responsive, friendly and accommodating (especially with travel disruptions due to volcanic activity). Practically everything is within walking distance from this house and it is very easy to find - looks just like the picture.

We stayed at this rental appartment for 1 week and really enjoyed it. It was clean, in a great location and big enough for 2 adults and 1 baby. It was an easy 5 minute walk to almost everything in downtown Reykjavik. We would recommend this place.
