Located overlooking the Ciutadella Park and only three blocks from Barcelona's old city it was the ideal location.
The crowds and the noise of the city faded when we were in the apartment yet we were able to enjoy our breakfast and cocktails on the balcony; gazing at the activities below...joggers, bikers, strollers, people enjoying their café; it was a fascinating scene!
The apartment itself was well appointed with the luxury of a second bedroom which gave our daughter (a student in the area) the option of spending the night with us.
We can't overemphasize Dolores' vast knowledge of Barcelona as well as Spain. Not only did she guide us to the fabulous sites of the city but she also assisted us in planning a trip to Costa Brava (after helping us evaluate that vs. a trip to Madrid or Granada).
Unfortunately, while visiting Barcelona we experienced an emergency medical problem...however; Dolores assisted us in finding immediate medical treatment. Her translating talents helped immensely!

The apartment was exactly as shown in the photos, well laid out and very clean.
At first I thought having single beds would be too small but they are almost like a double bed and as long as a king size bed and very comfortable.
We enjoyed the coffee and cakes that Dolores left us upon our arrival out on the lovely balcony overlooking the park across the street. There is a fully stocked grocery store around the corner which helped as.
Dolores was very helpful and not only had a ton of brochures but also a map on the wall with all the sites shown and how to get to them, she also suggested a few places to dine which we went to and found them all excellent, no disappointments at all.
The apartment and location was perfect and I'd highly recommend staying there while in Barcelona.

Thank you so much for the use of your wonderful apartment and specially for making it so much like a home away from home.
The coffee, milk, and muffins were also so very much appreciated the morning we woke up!We sat on the balcony and played cards every evening before dinner.
We enjoyed watching the green birds that looked a little like parrots and we think we heard the elephant from the zoo once. While walking down Wellington Street one evening,we saw the lion up behind the fence and it roared at us! It was such a sight!
The location was just perfect.
I am Dolores the owner of the apartment . I was born in Barcelona and I live just round the corner for 40 years.

Because I find is one of the best places to stay in Barcelona, close to everything,:
The GOTHIC area, the Picasso Museum, the Palau de la Musica are just a stone's throw away from the apartment.
CIUTADELLA PARC faces the apartment, has a peaceful atmosphere and is the perfect place both to relax and jog. It houses the Barcelona ZOO, and a waterfall.
BEACHES, LA RAMBLA, at 15 min. walking distance.
I LET MY GUESTS speak: Kathy (New York City)
My husband, 8-year-old son and I just returned from 7 nights in Dolores' apartment.
It was fabulous. It's clean, well-equipped, with a wonderful balcony overlooking a beautiful park.
The bus stop right outside and the tram and metro are just mere blocks away to take you to all over the city.
It was so nice to come home from a day of crowded sightseeing to this oasis. The neighborhood is safe and lovely, situatued between 2 cafes and filled with locals, not tourists.
Some nights we ate dinner on the terrace with delicious local specialties purchased at the supermarket right around the corner, and we went to the park every night to enjoy the peace and quiet--it's also a great place to run every morning.
It was also nice to know that Dolores was right around the corner if we had any questions or concerns. And she leaves so much information about Barcelona in the apartment, you never feel lost.
I hope to have the chance to recommend this apartment to anyone I know visiting Barcelona. It was a treat to stay here.
We enjoyed Christmas here in Barcelona. So pretty, magical, relaxed, and even had our favourite Christmas movie "Mujercitas". We loved visiting Santa Maria del Mar Church for midnight services, and the "Magic Fountaine" on Christmas night.
Thank you Dolores, for orienting us so well. This was our first trip to Barcelona and we would all love to return!.
P.S. We "Seattle" folks loved seeing the sun, the beautiful balcony, + living roomto enjoy it.
My family and I stayed for four nights in this apartment. It is bright, clean, tidy and superbly located, within walking distance to the Old City, many sights, the metro, convenience stores and a grocery store. Our hostess was very kind and gave us invaluable sightseeing tips. She also shared her insider's perspective on her exciting, dynamic city. Perhaps that is why we loved Barcelona so much!
My wife and I spent four nights in this excellent apartment. Clean and fully functioning. The balcony overlooking the park was just right for an afternoon glass of local wine. The kitchen is tiny but has everything and my wife loved it because there was only room enough for ME to prepare our meals. The building is very secure and the neighborhood felt comfortably safe. We walked everywhere to the Marina, the old city, the Familia Sagrada and felt secure all the time. Many restaurants, coffee shops and grocery stores all located close enough to walk. When we are back in Barcelona, I know where we will choose to stay. This place has it all!!!
This is a beautiful apartment in a beautiful part of Barcelona. It's within close proximity of all that the city has to offer and is close to all transport links. All site seeing opportunities can be easily accessed from this apartment and at the end of the day come back to typically Spanish accommodation. A welcome pack was included which is particularly useful if you arrive on a late flight, as we did.
Don't miss the opportunity to stay in this apartment with all it's home comforts.
The absolute best part of this apartment is its location. Its just outside the tourist district so you don't get the noise and high-priced, questionable quality bars and restaurants. But your within 3 km of most of the must-see attractions of Barcelona. We walked almost everywhere, and when we didn't we we're close to bus, tram, subway and train stations as well as a bicycle rental location that we used several times. The neighbourhood and building always felt safe and we never hesitated to walk to the local grocery store or eat at a local restaurant, no matter the time of day.
The apartment itself is in a 1980's era building and both the building and the apartment are well maintained and clean. And our hostess Dolores was delightful and unfailingly helpful. She met us at the apartment on our arrival, took on a walking tour of the neighbourhood so we could get our bearings and took us on several driving tours in her car so we could see parts of the city not easily accessible by the other means available to us.
I would recommend this property to any of our friends without hesitation. We stayed for a month and enjoyed every minute of it.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this apartment in Barcelona. It was very clean. The owner takes pride in her apartment and in Barcelona. She told us about the Magic Fountain show and we loved it and would never have known about it without her input. The small terrace facing the park was just perfect after a full day of sightseeing. We loved watching the green parrots fly overhead and one even posed for our camera!
Our first visit to Barcelona was a success. We thank Dolores for her friendly reception when we arrived at her Apartment, and so when we said goodbye. We stayed in the apartment for a week and we enjoyed being there. Everything worked perfectly, clean and tidy. The location we will highlight, in walking distance to many attractions and slightly longer distance well connected by bus and metro. Restaurants and shops were also close to the apartment. The balcony was perfect for tapas, a little red wine and relaxation.

I have been dreaming of coming to Barcelona for several years and chose it for the place to spend a “BIG BIRTHDAY” it was a great decision. Spain is a jewel of Europe, Catalonia is a jewel of Spain, and Barcelona is a jewel of Catalonia. And this apartment is a jewel in Barcelona.
Of course, Dolores is at the heart of this, has created a home-away-from –home. We can dash around the city all day and return here to a quiet, safe and welcoming environment. And Dolores has been so helpful, showing us hospitality, and sharing her sincere love of Barcelona. This will always be a special time and place in my heart.
