Charlotte House Rental Photos and Description
House, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 4-8)
My home is a 1940's era summer cottage. I'm on a small peninsula of similar homes with an acre point lot jutting into the lake. These homes were built by a group of Charlotte businessmen as summer cottages for their families some 3 generations ago. The property was part of a large farm and for years the original farmhouse stood as the 'clubhouse' where Sunday school and sermons were held for summer residents and boaters who pulled up alongside the point and listened from the water. The property has a modern claim to fame: scenes from the movie 'Days of Thunder' with Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman were filmed on the point and in the old clubhouse. I'll leave a copy here for you to watch!
The house is on the main Lake Wylie channel and you meander down a 2.6 mile road through the luxury community of The Sanctuary to reach the hous. This is a designated wildlife protection area where you'll see deer, fox, osprey and other wildlife.
Enjoy spectacular sunsets from the sun room, which is glass on 3 sides. You'll love sipping your evening cocktail from under the umbrella on the deck or down on the covered dock.
I have kayaks, tubes and floats for you to enjoy - or you can grab a rod and tackle box from the closet and try your hand at catching one of the huge catfish. There is a rumored 'sweet spot' right off the dock - and the water goes from a few feet to around 20 feet at the end of the dock.
I know you'll love my cozy cottage just as much as I do. And just like my other friends - you'll never want to leave!
Please note - no hot tub.

Guestbook comments from the owner
Hi Deborah and Ray,
We made it back to Pittsburgh safe and sound. Thanks for your concern.
We had a grand time, the Lake was peaceful and our grandsons had the time of their lives. We made ourselves at home and the cottage provided us with all we needed.
We’ll carry the memories of our stay with us for the rest of our lives.
If the opportunity ever arises we would definitely get in touch with you both to repeat the experience.
Thank you,Mary and Val
I fell hard for this place the first time I saw it in the sunset while driving around the day after Christmas. I knew I had to have it. I moved from Florida in 2000 and love North Carolina and Lake Wylie. I love to be outdoors and I love to cook. I have spent many happy hours here with my children, family, friends and dogs. I hope to meet you soon! Deb
Sunsets, privacy, natural beauty of the property and the lake.
Calm peacefulness and supreme privacy.
