My home is a 1940's era summer cottage. I'm on a small peninsula of similar homes with an acre point lot jutting into the lake. These homes were built by a group of Charlotte businessmen as summer cottages for their families some 3 generations ago. The property was part of a large farm and for years the original farmhouse stood as the 'clubhouse' where Sunday school and sermons were held for summer residents and boaters who pulled up alongside the point and listened from the water. The property has a modern claim to fame: scenes from the movie 'Days of Thunder' with Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman were filmed on the point and in the old clubhouse. I'll leave a copy here for you to watch!
The house is on the main Lake Wylie channel and you meander down a 2.6 mile road through the luxury community of The Sanctuary to reach the hous. This is a designated wildlife protection area where you'll see deer, fox, osprey and other wildlife.
Enjoy spectacular sunsets from the sun room, which is glass on 3 sides. You'll love sipping your evening cocktail from under the umbrella on the deck or down on the covered dock.
I have kayaks, tubes and floats for you to enjoy - or you can grab a rod and tackle box from the closet and try your hand at catching one of the huge catfish. There is a rumored 'sweet spot' right off the dock - and the water goes from a few feet to around 20 feet at the end of the dock.
I know you'll love my cozy cottage just as much as I do. And just like my other friends - you'll never want to leave!
Please note - no hot tub.

I fell hard for this place the first time I saw it in the sunset while driving around the day after Christmas. I knew I had to have it. I moved from Florida in 2000 and love North Carolina and Lake Wylie. I love to be outdoors and I love to cook. I have spent many happy hours here with my children, family, friends and dogs. I hope to meet you soon! Deb

Hi Deborah and Ray,
We made it back to Pittsburgh safe and sound. Thanks for your concern.
We had a grand time, the Lake was peaceful and our grandsons had the time of their lives. We made ourselves at home and the cottage provided us with all we needed.
We’ll carry the memories of our stay with us for the rest of our lives.
If the opportunity ever arises we would definitely get in touch with you both to repeat the experience.
Thank you,Mary and Val
The cottage is delightful! We especially enjoyed the sunroom, with its walls of windows overlooking the beautiful lake. The king-sized bed is luxuriously comfortable, and the kitchen has everything imaginable one would need or want. It was great fun to watch the fish, turtles, and birds from the sturdy and spacious dock. I loved the eclectic decor with its most appealing artwork! Only one suggestion: Add sports channels to the TVs.
This was our second time, and it was once again wonderful The lake view is beautiful; the water is fine for water sports and fishing; the hostess is kind and accomodating. I could go on and on. Suffice it to say the place is totally terrific.
Just got back from a relaxing 4 days. Can't wait to come back! So much to enjoy...kayaks, fishing, wildlife, trails, covered dock, amazing view. We don't plan on visiting the Charlotte area again without being able to stay right here and have already passed the info on to family who came up for the day and were so impressed. GREAT VALUE!
My husband & I, along with our Yorkiepoo, absolutely loved this place! It was very clean and the view of the lake was just beautiful. We saw 2 deer and a rabbit. My husband and dog loved the kayaking. He didn't mind his new life vest once he realized he could go on the kayak with his pop. The house had everything we needed and then some. There were plenty of places to eat nearby, which is always a plus for those who don't like to cook while on vacation. The big screen HD TV was great! This is also the first place I have ever stayed that had DirecTV and the movie channels. That was a nice surprise. Thanks so much for letting us stay there. I hope to be able to come back in the near future.
My husband and I and 2 daughters wanted a quiet place on the lake for 3 nights. We were attending our daughters graduation and this place fit the bill. Very clean and comfortable, great view of the lake, kayaks and canoes were all great.
We had a great time at the Lake Wylie cottage. Cottage was tucked away, but easy to find. Celebrated my brother-in-law's birthday, fished a little, grilled out, chilled on the awesome deck and on the dock. Well stocked pantry, and linens. Deb was very accommodating, helpful and friendly, though we didn't get to meet her face-to-face...maybe next time, since we're really hoping to come back.
