Nice quiet place on the sound

We stayed in the house in the beginning of August. The house is situated in a residential heighborhood, around MM 13.5. On the ground floor there is a car port, grill and the medium-size outdoor area
From there, the wooden stairs lead to the main floor which has a decent size covered porch (terrace) with the outdoor furniture
The house itself has 3 bedrooms: master bedroom with quieen bed, TV and dvd/vcr and a bathroom, another bedroom with the queen bed and a smaller 3rd bedroom which is good for kids. There is AC thoughout the house and a large kitchen with all the appliances and the living area with the rage sofa and lovesit. There is a TV with basic cable, DVD and VCR. The second bathroom is off the living area.
Off the kitchen there is washer/dryer. All in all a great place for a medium size family. Thre also is another set of step that leads from the main floor terrace to the small 'high terrace' above the roof which is truly the great place to enjoy the glass of wine and view the sunset over the Roanoke Sound.
There is a short walk (< 5mins) to the small soundside beach. Please note the water is very shallow and there is no lifeguard there but the water is very warm and gentle -good for kids. You can also try to catch the crab hidng under the rocks. The community also has a pool which can be reached by car in under 2 min or you can walk 10-15 mins. There is a small fee for the pool.Near the pool is another small sound beach access.
Comminity has the boat ramp and also you can rent the canoe and lauch it there into the sound via the canal.
There are few public ocean access points within 5 min driving time. The main road (bypass) and the beach road are very close in this area, so you can also walk to the beach (10-15 mins). Jockey Ridge park entrace is about 1 mile away and there are numerous restaurants and stores nearby. It takes about 10-15 mins to get Kitty Hawk and flight memorial. The owners are very nice people who care a lot about the guests.
I absolutely recommend this house, our stay was peaceful and re-energizing.
