Himrod Vacation Rental cottage

We had a wonderful time staying at this property! It is located across the street from the lake, but you have your own private dock area. The cottage is comfortable and roomy - and very fully stocked. The kitchen has more gadgets, dishes and stuff than I have at home! The two double beds in the bedroom are very comfortable and the bedroom is very large.

This property has a huge, beautiful yard with a picnic area that looks out over the lake. We ate almost every meal out here - absolutely beautiful! The location on Plum Point Road is perfect - directly in between the Showboat and Rainbow Cove restaurants. The food at both was excellent - how convenient is that when you're on vacation and don't feel like cooking. Showboat has a great bar and live music on the weekends. You just can't beat this location!

We arranged with the owner to be able to bring our dog with us - he truly enjoyed his vacation and there is plenty of room for him in this yard!

We are NASCAR fans and rented this cottage running into the Sprint Cup weekend at the Glen. Easy drive to the track and back - highly recommended for a relaxing getaway.

This cottage is not fancy, but it's very comfortable and homey! If you're not familiar with the Finger Lakes, this area is beautiful. Small towns close by for groceries, Amish attractions and great fishing.

The quaint cottage on the lake has a huge yard that is great to sit in and read a book. It is a very peaceful setting which allowed us to unwind and relax in the evening. We loved the yard and were happy it had a gas grill (vs. a charcoal one). The owner was very attentive and checked in to make sure we had everything we needed. This was a great location for visiting the area and all the wineries. The view is wonderful.

We stayed at this property over the July 4th holiday. The cottage was exceptionally clean and tidy, with a huge bedroom with two queen beds and a sleeper sofa in the large living room. The well-stocked kitchen has two windows that look out to the lake and there is a big screened in porch that's perfect for people watching as folks stroll by in the evening on after dinner walks.

One of the best things about the location is that there are two small, lakeside hotels with restaruants within a few hundred yards on either side of the cottage. Both restaurants serve breakfast, lunch and dinner and one has a dockside bar that's perfect for a sunset cocktail. There are boat rentals right up the street and the cottage has a large dock if you want to rent a boat for the day or week.

There's also a great big yard complete with shade trees, picnic tables and barbecue grill. The cottage is located on the winery tour trail, with at least a dozen wineries within a few miles. It's also a short drive to The Windmill, a Mennonite shopping village. We thought is was a good, central location, close to all of the attractions in Watkins Glenn, Geneva and Keuka Lake, just over the hill. We really enjoyed this cottage and will be back next year!
