The Quintessential Cape Cod Cottage

I fell in love with this charming house before I even got out of the car. I loved the oyster shell driveway, the beautiful and well-kept gardens, the private yard with two seating areas, the window boxes, the stone wall...
The home was a bit larger than I thought it would be. I looked at the bedrooms before my daughter got there, to decide which was my favorite. I chose the bedroom up the ladder stairs. The two bedrooms and bathroom upstairs felt like a cozy retreat, and very private. The stairs were a little hard to maneuver the first day, but I caught on. You have to go up and down sideways. The rope "banister" became on of my favorite features. The house was neat and clean. I live in a historic house, so I immediately felt at home with the wide board floors, wrought iron latches, and many other authentic details. This house has character with a capital C! By the second day, I had such a sense of peace that I made a reservation for a fall weekend. Jane is a wonderful hostess, and very prompt with her correspondence. I can't wait to go back!
