On the way there, you'll drive over the state's newest covered bridge, the Smith Millenium Bridge with its own pedestrian walkway, perfect for picture taking.

The nearby highway can take you north to the village of Woodstock and over to Lincoln, home to Loon Mountain and the entry to the Kangamagus Highway and great hiking, swimming and rock scrambling. The Lost River, Clarke's Trading Post, and Franconia Notch attractions are a little further north. Taking the highway south brings you to the 'Golden Pond' of Squam Lakes. Follow country routes from the highway to the swimming and boating attractions in Weirs Beach and other lakeside towns.
