The largest of our vintage cottages at Cottages at the Water's Edge, our Lake Erie Guesthouse is conveniently nestled between Toledo and Cleveland in Vermilion, Ohio, and is 20 minutes from Cedar Point Amazement Park. The venue at our Guesthouse boasts 400 feet of private lakefront and a sandy beach. The alluring simplicity, fresh air, and sunsets are captivating. Unlike our summer cottages, the guesthouse is open all year so that you might enjoy the freshness of spring, the sun and warmth of summer, the spectacular fall colors, or the peace and quiet in the midst of winter.

Beyond our expectations!

We lucked out finding this fantastic "Guesthouse" on Lake Erie! A family emergency required an unplanned trip to the area, bringing 6 adults and our 4 young granddaughters together. We wanted to stay together and couldn't have found a nicer place to end our days while there. The owners are amazing and full of local history and suggestions if you are looking for things to do in the area. Unfortunately we had very little time to just relax but trust us....this home is adorable, well stocked, plenty of beds, and the grounds are fantastic. You will have a wonderful time vacationing here!
Thank you so much Therese and Dave, we all agreed that if we make another trip to the area, we'd love to stay at The Guesthouse again!!

What a great place for a relaxing vacation

As I said to the owners, Therese and Dave, the pictures on the internet do not do The Guest House justice. What a great place for a relaxing vacation. The large oak table in the dining room (which comfortably seats 8) was the perfect place to have our meals and play cards. The dining room is all windows with great views of Lake Erie and the grounds. The kitchen is well stocked and easily accommodated three people preparing a meal. The living room was cozy with seating for at least five people and an electric fireplace and TV. Three of the four bedrooms are very large with extremely comfortable beds. From the quilts on the beds to the antiques in all the rooms, The Guest House was both welcoming and comfortable. Thank you again Therese and Dave for being such wonderful hosts.

Great place to relax as a family!

This rental house is part of a much larger cottage "complex" known as The Cottages at Water's Edge. The house had great character and all of the amenties that parents with young children could need. There was a large grassy area out back where the kids could run and just be kids. The beach (30 stairs down from the main property) was clean and sandy. The depth of the water at this beach was perfect for our family. Could go out at least 25 feet before the water got to be 3 ft deep. The owners of the property live on site and were very helpful with anything that we needed. They provided fabulous ideas for things to do around the property and places to visit. Our kids miss the nightly campfires and catching lightening bugs each evening. We will definitely be making a return trip in 2011.
