Beautifully restored turn of the century Victorian, “Glass Gable”, is located six blocks from historical Carlisle’s town square. The interior of this well-preserved 100 year old home is light, friendly, and comfortable. Enjoy the ambiance provided by11 feet high ceilings accented with beautiful custom woodwork including inlaid hardwood floors, ceiling (crown) and floor moldings, pocket doors, and ornate staircase railings. The renovated kitchen provides newer appliances fully equipped with refrigerator with ice-maker, disposal, microwave, dishwasher, gas stove and electric oven. “Glass Gable” provides dishes, glassware and eating utensils in the kitchen... towels, linens and paper products for the bed and bathrooms and other items to make you feel at home. The large paver patio and garden area with a gas grill offer a relaxing retreat. Free wireless high speed internet is accessible throughout most of the property. Additional information about rental rates

  • $225/nt, $1,350 per week
  • Nightly and weekly rates are for the use of the first and second floors which provide accomodations for six people (three bedrooms). To rent the third floor which provides accomdations consisting of three twin beds add $50.00 per night or $300.00 per week. An additional sleeping area which provides accomodations for three individuals taking the total accomdations for the property to 12 is also available for $50.00 per night or $300.00 per week. A 50 % deposit which applied to the rent amount be paid upon lease signing. Payment can be made by credit card (VISA or MasterCard), personal check, or money order. The remaining balance is due no later than 30 calendar days prior to the first day of your visit. Our cancellation policy is the initial deposit less a $75.00 cancellation fee is refundable if we are able to re-rent your accommodations.
    The Glass Gable will accomodate 16 people after April 1, 2011; however additional fees will apply for accomodations for 16.
  • 'Glass Gable' is a a non-smoking facility. Pets are truely loved however not allowed.

Notes: There is a washer and dryer but tenant will need to provide their own detergent and softner. A trash bin is located on the back patio. At the end of stay please place all trash in this container. Parking is on the street and there is plenty. Each Wednesday and Thursday Street cleaners clean the streets and signs are posted so you will know when you cannont park on a specifc side of the street.

Excellent Home for a family get together!

The pictures on VRBO just don't do this home justice. More pictures would certainly drive customers to rent this home. Listed as 4 bedrooms, but actually 5. One bedroom on the third floor doesn't have a door, so it can't be listed as a bedroom. We just hung a sheet and my son loved sleeping there. Beautifully decorated for the holidays. Huge dining room with table big enough to sit at least 12. Large kitchen that has been updated, but still feels like it belongs in this restored Victorian home. Bedrooms are not small. The master actually has a seating area with couch and chairs. Lots of large windows throughout the house. We brought all the food we needed, and never ate out. Easy to cook in the kitchen. Beds were very comfortable. No complaints from anyone as far as sleeping was concerned.
There is only 1 full bath, but we were able to work around that and only ran out of hot water once while everyone was bathing. Overall, a great property and highly recommended. Another plus...the owners were very helpful and kind!

My husband and two sons (ages 22 and 25) arrived on Christmas Day to find this beautifully restored Victorian decorated for the holidays. We stayed for three nights while visiting and entertaining family. It was the perfect house for us, warm and welcoming. The pictures do not portray accurately the feeling of standing in rooms with 10 foot ceilings, pocket doors, fireplaces, hardwood floors, and much more. The house is very conveniently located to restaurants, the owners helpful, the house was clean. I would recommend this house highly for anyone and plan to use it again.

Wonderful place!

This handsome Victorian house was the perfect place for a Thanksgiving get-together for my family. The house easily held the 6 of us, and could have accommodated more. Very spacious dining room, comfortable sitting room. Everyone was delighted with their bedrooms. A pleasant walk to and from downtown Carlisle. And easily accessible from the Pennsylvania Turnpike and I-81. Nice!

Beautiful Home and Gracious Hostess!

This was the perfect spot for my son's college graduation. With so many family members coming together, it was a great alternative to several hotel rooms and A LOT cheaper! The house is exactly as described but I'd say the photos don't do it justice. The house is simply beautiful, well cared for, and extremely clean! It’s certainly big enough for large family gatherings. We spent most of our time on the back patio sitting on a great stone patio set or out front on the huge front porch. Diana is a lovely hostess who answered any question we had. We didn't have one problem while we were there. I highly recommend this home!

A Very Merry C!hristmas

We stayed at Glass Gable over Christmas with our daughter and her family from overseas and our other daughter and had 5 wonderful days in comfort and peace. The home was roomy enough for us 6 adults and 3 children as well as a Christmas Day gathering adding another daughter and family and two more children. We couldn't ask for a better environment to enjoy ourselves. It is clean and most items were provided and it is also handy to shopping and other necessities during our stay. It is a lovely home and the entire process was very well done and user friendly. We highly recommend this home away from home to anyone looking for a place to gather. Before you consider a motel, check this out. If you are sharing with another family member this is more cost effective, especially with a kitchen to be able to cook. We had a great time and thank you Diana!
