Wonderful space and location

I have been waiting all summer to see a review so I figured I better post! I highly recommend this unit. There is plenty of space for a large group (although there were only 3 of us). The decor and furniture are very nice, high end look. The original artwork is a very nice touch (photos shown as of this posting 8/29/2009 are not current). The kitchen is appointed well (could use a cookie sheet!) with dishwasher and very handy in-unit laundry. The beds are comfortable, soft sheets, towels, nice dinner ware, etc. The TV room is a great bonus - cozy with a very nice flat screen TV that is separate from the rest of living space - those who want to watch TV will not disturb those who want to listen to the river. Betsy really thought of everything. A very, very nice space.
The location is fantastic being in town, right on the river walk yet it is quiet and the river is literally right out the door. With the windows open you can hear the river all day - better yet, take a book and sit out on the balcony. It really feels like you are in the country. If you are a coffee lover, Kind Coffee is right downstairs (Starbucks about a short stroll up the walk but Kind is much better!) One night they must have been grinding beans and the aroma wafting up to the TV room was wonderful). Many restaurants and shops to walk to (and a place a few doors down on Elkhorn with the BEST pies).
The only drawback was that the parking situation is not ideal. There is a small parking lot in front of the building used by the businesses downstairs and it is busy and can be full until 10pm. There is parking lot across the street but my husband preferred our car to be where he could see it overnight (Besty was up front about this when we booked) - would have even paid a bit more for a dedicated spot. There was only one night we had to go move the car as we could not get a spot earlier. The bedrooms are on the parking lot side and can be a little noisy until about 10pm with the windows open. We did go to bed early on our last night but we just closed the window and turned on the air. Our daughter was in the other bedroom and sound was not an issue. I mention this only for full disclosure. Don't let this stop you from renting this unit.
This was our first time in Estes Park. We will go back and will certainly rent this unit again.
