Looking for an island escape? This quaint upscale cottage duplex is located in the heart of Sanibel yet very private and secluded. 'The Getaway' is one block from Sanibel's famous shell laden white sand beaches. The bike path and golf course is located directly across the street as well as restaurants, antique and shell shops are walking distance. Newly refurbished in 2009 this large 1/1 cottage is tastefully decorated with a 'beach cottage/shabby chic' style decor. This unit has it all- comfy slip cover sofas, 42 inch plasma screen television, DVD/VCR players, bedroom television, king size bed, cable and high speed Internet, pull out sofa bed in living room, fully equipped kitchen, linens and two screened in furnished porches. For your added pleasure and use we have two beach cruiser bikes, propane BBQ, games and movies, a picnic basket, beach chairs, beach umbrella, washer and dryer on premises. It's perfect for a romantic couple's getaway and definitely for families!!

The 'Getaway' is for everyone: 'The Getaway' is absolutely perfect for couples looking for a charming and romantic cottage hideaway as well as for parents with children in tow. For families vacationing with the kiddies we have a portable crib, high chair (both stored away in closet), chest of toys and games, children's DVDs/videos and sand toys. The central location is superb - one block walking distance to the beach as well as across the street from the golf course and the island bike path. Within minutes you can walk to the Lazy Flamingo, Maztaluna's, Huxter's Market, Island Trading Post Antique Shop, Schnapper's Hots, McT's, DQ, Billys Bike Rentals, She Sells Sea Shells, etc. When you enter the island we are the second left after you turn right onto Periwinkle Way in the heart of the island. Arriving from Germany we felt absolutely comfortable with "The Getaway". Beach, Restaurants, etc., everything in walking distance or easily accessible via the bikes, being part of the cottages "furniture". The cottage itself has everything you need for a comfortable vacation, I personally loved the big TV Screen, High Speed WiFi-Access and for the hotter days of November the air condition.
We will come back to Sanibel soon.
