Excellent Family Location

I almost hate writing this review and drawing attention to the Lahia condos - I don't want any availablity issues the next time we go back.
First of all, the beach in front of Lahia condos is the widest and nicest stretch of beach in the hotel zone. You also have the advantage of taking a short walk down to Club Med for calm water.
As far as the condo, I think you would have a hard time finding a nicer place to stay. From the lobby, to the Spa, the building is beautiful. You have access to a game room with pool table and ping pong, plus a racquet ball on the top floor that over looks the Lagoon.
The health club has a huge window, overlooking the ocean. What a way to excersie.
The rooms are spacious, with a nice kitchen, family room and large balcony with a incredible view.
The pool has to be the largest pool in Cancun and the infinte-style looks great.
The condos are only 4-months old so there was some ongoing construction and kinks yet to work out. The hot tub was not hot and the swim-up bar was still under construction. Those additions will really add to the property.
Finally, and likely the best part of Lahia is Alex who runs the bar/grill. Not only are Alex and his friends the nicest people in Cancun, the food is fresh and inexpensive.
The salsa is made fresh, the orange juice fresh squeezed and the omlets incredible. We thought we would be eating breakfast and lunch in the condo to save money but always ended up at Alex's.
Recommendatoins:
Lahia is the third stop from the Airport so don't pay more than $20-40 for a cab ride.
They do not have racquet ball equipment so bring your own if you want to play.
Food can be bought at Sams which is at the top of the hotel zone. Take a cab both ways...It is too far for the bus.
There are a few negatives about Lahia, the pool is in the shade by 3:00 in the afternoon and the building starts affecting the sun on the beach at about 3:30-4:00.
Overall, Cancun is windy and the waves can get pretty big. That is why having Club Med down the beach is a nice escape from the waves and wind.
Lahia is definetly a family location. No music, games or crowds.
