About The Owner

I moved to the country to change the rhythm of my life. The peace and quiet of nature has opened doors for me to explore my artistic side and live a healthier lifestyle. My dream retreat is a private 400 acre sanctuary nestled in the Catskill mountains of Upstate NY. The house and property were landscaped and designed by me and includes miles of groomed trails and old stone walls. The retreat family includes beautiful horses, 3 adoring dogs, peacocks..... Hiking, swimming, fishing, canoeing, and horseback riding, are some of the activities that inspire each day....Winding down with a pen or a paintbrush or a meditative reflection along the waters edge.... Sipping homemade wine by the fireplace as the moon reflects upon the lake....these are just a few of the many joys that brought me here. Come and be inspired too!

Fisherman’s Paradise

Stayed on the property during a film shoot this past weekend. Accommodations and housing were great. During our down time, we decided to go fishing. During our two hours of fishing, we caught 20+ largemouth bass. The lake is a fisherman’s paradise.

what a great retreat!!!

my girlfriend & I had a small wedding at RWR over Xmas & the setting was spectacular.We stayed in the cabin(love shack) nestled in the woods & just 50ft from the beautiful totally private large lake..The cabin was neat. cozy ,clean.& had a woodburning stove.We did some horseback riding & hiking on the well manicured trails.Very romantic low key setting with totally accommodating hosts.Will be back!!The pictures dont do it justice.

A Breath of Fresh Air

My boyfriend and I needed a break from tired urban landscapes and were happy to discover this lovely place. We decided to let go not only of the pressures of daily life, but also of the much more subtle yet insidious ones of planning and having fun on that long awaited vacation (you vill choose an expensive hotel, go on exhausting day trips and co-mingle viz ze ozzer tourists... and you vill like it!) With many on-site activities at our disposal, we reconnected with nature at our leisure without having to deal with multiple vendors or venues. We fished, swam, foraged for mushrooms and admired the mountainous terrain both on foot and horseback, all at this beautiful 400 acre retreat.
Our lodgings were clean, modern and well equipped for preparing precious catches from a lake directly on the property. With a quaint main street and a 24 hour grocery store just a short drive away, we had solitude, but everything we needed still close at hand (just in case our skill with rod and reel were to fail, which, I'm proud to say it didn't.)
It was also a real pleasure to speak with the owner and gain an understanding of her vision for this place, which as of yet remains pure and free of commercialism and the touristy inauthenticity that is typical of many getaway destinations. We hope it remains this way for a long time to come. Rippling Waters is truly a breath of fresh air.

i have returned to Rippling Waters Retreat 3 times and without a doubt continue visiting this place. The hostess Laura is the most amazing and loving person and my girlfriends who came with me this last time totally fell in love with her right away. My daughter took her first horse riding lesson here and is also in love with the place and keeps asking me to come back for more. The property is so immaculate in every way you look at it - gorgeous private lake, lots of grounds to relax on, animals that are so well cared for, clean rooms, fresh air, absolute serenity. The place has an amazing energy to it. Come here only if you absolutely admire and respect that

Unforgetable Trip!

Our trip this weekend to Rippling Waters was truly unforgetable. The estate is quite large and incredibly beautiful. We stayed at the cottage, which has a bed and a full kitchen. It was very clean and full of natural sunlight. The views throughout the property, and in particular of the lake, are magnificent and breathtaking. The estate is very well-manicured, and there are many trails meandering throughout the area. We took a canoe out on the lake for a few hours, which was very relaxing and enjoyable. We also took a horseback tour through some of the property and were treated to some beautiful views of the town.
Most important of all, our hosts Tom and Lauren were extremely kind and accomodating. They answered all our questions and made our stay truly wonderful.
I highly recommend.
