The Highland Guesthouse overlooks Boulder Creek and is within two blocks of the Pearl Street Mall for shopping, dining, museums, art galleries, the Farmer's Market, and grocery store. Walk to the County Courthouse, Justice Center, Boulder Municipal Building and library. Just down the road from Boulder Community Hospital, Medical Center, University of Colorado, IBM and Interlocken.

We are centrally located for activities such as hiking, biking, fishing, skiing and ice skating, Boulder creek and miles of biking/running paths are steps away. All are within walking/biking distance. However, you have a car,we provide a covered parking spot. We are also at the mouth of Boulder Canyon, the gateway to Rocky Mountain national Park, for a great daytrip.

Our guesthouse is the ideal place for individuals in town for business, visiting professors or vacationing couples.

The Highland Guesthouse sits on a 120-year old property that has been lovingly restored with new and vintage details, state of the art technology and award-winning gardens. Enjoy a full kitchen with granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances, a cozy living area with leather sofa/sleeper, a wood-burning stove, artwork and antique furnishings. City Club Guest House

This was my fourth stay, and as in the past it was delightful. You cannot beat the location - just a couple of blocks from Pearl Street; surrounded by Boulder Creek with its scenic trails and the historic City Club grounds. The staff is exemplary; going over & beyond to make you feel at home. Upon arrival I found fresh flowers, a bottle of wine and chocolates waiting for me along with coffee and home made banana bread for breakfast. If you stay be sure to have lunch at The City Club - as good as any of the top Boulder restaurants. It will always be my first choice when visiting Boulder.

First time in Boulder and feel in love with the city. There's nothing like exploring the great state of Colorado and coming back to this place where you could easily walk to the downtown "old" district or Central Park or just hang out on the back patio listening to the creek right below you.

Excellent location. Spacious apartment. Responsive management and owners. Beware of air conditioner.

The reservation process was effortless. Location is superb, both for downtown Boulder and the fabulous adjacent creek. Apartment is spacious. Kitchen is well-equipped. Bathroom is roomy and bright. Bed is comfortable. Management and owners are available and responsive. Perfectly dog-friendly. Wireless Internet is okay. Television is small, but it works fine. Patio deck is a bonus. Adjacent garden is spectacular.

Alerts: [1] There is no way to get back into the unit if you are on the patio with the door locked. This needs to be remedied with some way to get in if you accidentally lock yourself out. [2] The air conditioner is loud and inefficient. For the substantial price of this VRBO there needs to be a much better and quieter wall-mounted mini-split system with remote control. Boulder is hot in the summer, so you have been warned. [3] Stairway entry is tall, so you will be going up and down the stairs often, if that is a concern.

September 2013 Flood

We arrived for a 6-night stay after the initial mountain flooding in Colorado during September 2013, and were concerned with how our stay might be affected. Happily, the living quarters were unaffected, and the property management staff worked overtime handling the natural emergency with aplomb. This wasn't easy,and we appreciated the efforts put forth to minimize any affect on our stay. The 1-bedroom unit is perfect for a couple. There are two main spaces, the living area (kitchen/dining/living) and bedroom. These two spaces are connected via operable wooden blinds. In addition, there is a bathroom with shower, a laundry area with 'walk-in closet' storage and an outside deck. The unit's location on the second floor provides additional security and privacy, but also limits the use of the space to persons able to walk up and down stairs. The location within Boulder is a plus. One can walk to the Pearl Street pedestrian mall. The Boulder bike path is within a block, and follows Boulder Creek at this location. Our stay was too short, despite the flood, and we highly recommend this property!

Perfect Boulder Base Camp!

The guesthouse was perfect. Clean, spacious, and all the amenities and little extras you might ever want for. The location is perfect, it feels secluded, but is just a short walk from the Pearl Street mall. And it's hard to be falling asleep to the sound of Boulder Creek in the background. We enjoyed ourselves so much, we joked about moving in, permanently.

Really well appointed

We had an exceptionally positive experience staying at the Highland Guest House. The location is ideal--you're right on the creek, so it feels relaxing, but you're just a 3min walk from prime downtown. We were able to walk back and forth several times a day with our daughter (who's 2 years old). The apartment is extremely well appointed. You're also a short walk from Eben Fine Park. It's evident that lots of thought went into designing and outfitting the space. For example, there was a coffee pot, a french press, a bean grinder, and two different types of coffee in the cabinet. Something to satisfy everyone's caffeine needs! The staff was extremely friendly--they all knew we were arriving and came over to introduce themselves. We didn't take advantage of any of the resources at the Highland Social Club, but the space seemed interesting. For two adults and a toddler, the space/layout were great. We'd enthusiastically recommend this apartment.
