Within a short 30 minutes, visit the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, drive the Blue Ridge Parkway, raft or kayak the Nantahala River, hike or camp on the Appalachian Trail, visit historic Cherokee, trout fish and raft on the Tuckasegee River and snow ski, tube or horseback ride at the Cataloochee Ranch atop fun-filled Maggie Valley. Cashiers and Lake Toxaway are also beautiful nearby destinations. And, if you are a hunter, there is plenty of that, too. Within 45 minutes, you can explore the wonders of Ashville, including the historic Biltmore Estate, a must see while in the area.
