This is a custom built home sitting on 5 acres along the South Umpqua River in the peaceful, wooded, Cascade Mountains. This is a great location for swimming, nearby hunting and fishing, hiking and sightseeing.
The house has an open floor plan and covered porches, both front and rear, with a patio off of the rear porch. The large yard will accommodate lots of parking including RV or trailer.
This property is perfect for small family reunions and get togethers. It is also a great central location for many day trips. Nearby attractions include, South Umpqua Falls, many hiking trails and several secluded, pristine high lakes, accessible only by foot or horseback. Day trips can include Crater Lake National Park, Diamond Lake Resort, Rogue River, Lost Creek Lake, Seven Feathers Casino, to name a few.
Well behaved, small dogs may be considered for an extra cleaning fee.
My wife and I have grown up and lived in Southern Oregon all of our lives. We like to spend time outdoors and intend to retire at our Tiller home someday.
Carrie Brown purchased this house in 2007
My wife grew up at this location. we recently had the opportunity to buy the property and build a new house on it.
This is a secluded peaceful location great for swimming and relaxing away from the stress of the world.
My family and I (6 adults & 2 kids) were so surprised at how well stocked the house was when we got there. We way overpacked!! Carrie and her dad were so helpful with everything we needed. The house was as great as it looked on the ad.And not to mention the river!! We had so many day trips in our original plans, but how could we leave the house, with the wonderful swimming hole they have! We ended up only taking 3 trips away from the house, and we had originally had one planned for each day. It was a week we will all remember as a great vacation!! We look forward to going back in the future.
I grew up in the Days Creek area and am familiar with Tiller and its amazing beauty. The opportunity to rent my own place right in the backyard of the Rogue-Umpqua Wilderness for a few days was more than I could pass up. My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed the place, it was great for entertaining and would be ideal for anyone wanting a comfortable base of operations for exploring the natural beauty of the area. Highly recommended! Thanks for everything, Patti!
My girlfriends/bridesmaids and I met here for 3 days of fun. We celebrated birthdays, planned a wedding and enjoyed each other's company. We were there during the wildfires but that didn't stop us from playing in the river and sunbathing. We played pool, made delicious dinners, danced to songs for Mary's wedding and luxuriated in the sauna. We only left the house once for a wedding dress fitting in Eugene. We liked the water toys and stocked kitchen. And did I mention there was quite a supply of fresh baked chocolate chip cookies? This is by far our favorite VRBO we've stayed in!
This house is better than the photos! It is a kids paradise: safe tubing rapids, sandy beach, shallow wading, deep swimming holes, a huge lawn ready for soccer and croquet and lizards to chase. The owners provide ammenities that you wouldn't expect: beach towels, lawn games, inner tubes, pancake mix, tea, marshmallows,etc....
This house and riverfront setting were divine for our family of six including 8-year old triplets and a 4- year old. Our late evening arrival was greeted by fresh chocolate chip cookies which was such a welcoming treat for our kids. The location is amazing, our family loved swimming in the river, playing games on the lawn, exploring the river bank, star gazing, grilling out. The property was nicely landscaped, the house well stocked, clean and fresh, spacious, well-built, and very comfortable, We loved the big porches! Carrie and her family provided many thoughtful touches to make us feel at home, from setting up a dollhouse for our girls, scrumptious cookies and breakfast supplies on hand to make the late night arrival after a full day of air travel easier on all of us. I've never felt more comfortable on a vacation before. We spent four nights of a two week vacation there and at the end wished we'd spent more time relaxing there. We daytripped to Crater Lake, the South Umpqua Falls, and the Wildlife Safari. If we lived closer, we'd make it an annual destination!
After a very eventful summer, our family was in desperate need of some time to pull away and regroup in a quiet, peaceful setting. Homeowners, Clay & Carrie provided just that with this wonderful home.
Set right on the river with no one else around (save the loan neighbor that we never did see), our family was able to rest, relax, and regroup unlike any vacation we have ever taken. The home itself was perfectly comfortable, nicely organized, equipped for a family, but suitable for anyone.
With the river right outside, we slept with the windows open. The kids loved the house and all the fun little things they found - like the lizards basking in the sun out back, playing badmiton on the lawn, or going down to the swimming hole where they found some huge fish! My husband and I enjoyed watching them just be kids while we sat in chairs with our feet in the river and our faces to the sun!
Upon our arrival, we were welcomed with fresh baked chocolate chip cookies - what a delicious treat! The one thing we did miss was finding the dollar (you'll have to visit to find out what that's about!) But as we intend on going back again at some future date, we are determined to succeed!
If you are looking for a place to pull away and get out of the hustle and bustle of the norm, this is it! Close enough for a day trip to Crater Lake or, a shorter distance, to South Umpqua Falls, you will not be disappointed!
