We came to Chattanooga on an ArtsMove Grant from Bradenton, Florida where we were one of a group of artists instrumental in creating The Village of the Arts, the largest arts enclave on the Gulf Coast.
Miki & Tom purchased this house in 2007
We fell in love with Chattanooga, and being urban pioneers, we love living right downtown. There is so much happening in this medium sized culturally rich city with a myriad of outdoor activities for singles and families alike.
We are walking distance to great restaurants and right around the corner from the free electric shuttle bus or bike rentals along the way to take you anywhere around downtown ending at the Tennessee River. The Aquarium, live theatre, Symphony, movie theatre and much much more. And there is off-street parking behind the house.
Very rarely do we come across a place that is so in tune with what we enjoy and appreciate. This stay has been one of those occasions and it has been so relaxing and comfortable and stimulating visually as well. Loved the thought and imagination that has gone into the setup but most of all, meeting Miki & Tom has been the real treat. This house is just like them -- unique, inspiring and caring -- we shall be back!
The Artist's Residence is such an incredible place, and oh so much better than staying at a hotel. Four of us stayed at the residence while in Chattanooga for a conference and we couldn't ask for a more comfortable stay. When we arrived we were immediately surrounded by the quirky, beautiful artwork of Miki Boni, in addition to the works of various other artists. There was nothing vanilla about our accommodations. The bright colors, modern amenities, and creative vibe really did make our visit special. The location of the residence was also a bonus for us, as the Southside of Chattanooga has a lovely, up and coming bohemian feel to it, with great shops and restaurants around every corner. Every morning we took a lovely walk throughout the neighborhood, felt very safe and were greeted by some of the nicest folks. Chattanoogan's are very friendly people and they love their city. And of course our hosts Miki and Tom were wonderful and ever so gracious. We can't wait to return and would recommend the Artist's Residence to anyone looking for a great Chattanooga get away.
We loved our stay in the Artist's Residence. From check in -- to the text after check out, so that we could circle back for an item that was left behind -- everything was perfect. The charm and personality of this property is unmatched. We did not use the front gallery, but we did use both bedrooms and appreciated them being slightly separated with a full bath outside of one and a half bath outside the other. The home is well stocked and the location was convenient to everything in Chattanooga. The property is beautiful inside and out and the owners were absolutely wonderful! We definitely hope to return!!
My husband, baby and I recently stayed here with my aunt and uncle and we had the best time! It was a wonderful, colorful, comfortable home to spend quality family time in. It was a real treat to be surrounded by beautiful art. The hosts were terrific and went out of their way to accommodate our reservation on short notice. They had helpful restaurant and grocery information posted. We made a short walk to stock up on delicious food at a gourmet grocery, and ended our stay with a delicious brunch just down the street. We really hope we will be able to stay here again!
We really enjoyed our stay at The Residence. It was very comfortable for the four of us. The decor is unique. Located within walking distance restaurants and the CARTA south station allowed free and easy access to downtown Chattanooga ' dining, shopping, and the Tennessee Aquarium. We would stay here again and have recommended it to our friends.
We had a wonderful stay in this rental, which felt like a home away from home! We were there for the Ironman Chattanooga and had a great chance to relax before our race. It was so close to everything, and it had all the things we needed, especially loved the fully stocked kitchen! The porch in both front and back were so nice to eat with friends after a day out in town. The owners were very easy to work with on anything we needed!
There are not enough words to express how delighted our family was with our stay at the Artists Residence. You truly will not find a more comfortable and inviting place to stay. The artwork is amazing and the location is great! You are within walking distance to great local shops and places to eat. The front porch is a great place to unwind after enjoying all the many cool things to do in Chattanooga (Incline Railway, Rock City, hiking Lookout Mountain, Tennessee Gorge River Cruise and the list goes on). The property is exceptionally clean and has so many amenities…you will feel like you're home! Miki and Tom are great people and you will be a better person after meeting them. We are usually ready to go home as we near the end of our stay when we're on vacation. Not the case this time. We were sad to leave! We will stay here again the next time we're in Chattanooga. We can't wait to go back! THANK YOU MIKI AND TOM!!
Located downtown in the historic Southside arts district, we love being able to walk to restaurants and down to the waterfront. Our favorite breakfast/lunch place is the Bluegrass Grille at the corner. The Flying Squirrel and The Terminal, just two of our favorite local watering holes, are a couple of blocks away. Five minutes by car is Ruby Falls, The Incline Railway, and Rock City. Voted the #2 arts destination in a mid-sized City and Where to Retire Magazine voted it one of the top places in the country to live (Mar/Apr 2011). (The owners made the cover). Rich in cultural and outdoor activities, fabulous restaurants, and lots of attractions and Seasonal festivals. Just 1-1/2 hours from Atlanta, and 10 minutes from the Chattanooga Metropolitan airport.
Golf: There are more than six municipal golf courses within fifteen minutes to half an hour of downtown with moderate price ranges.
