Quaint & Pretty!

Many thanks to Maureen & Peter for providing a lovely quaint getaway in Williamstown. The cottage is beautifully decorated with absolutely everything on-hand you could require. We traveled with a baby and it was great to literally have a home away from home. The cottage is tastefully decorated and a pleasure to sit back in the evenings and relax.
It was very clean & well maintained and I would highly recommend it for a family stay. Haven never stayed in Western Mass before Williamstown is a good base for taking day trips. However we did find Williamstown itself a bit limiting for restaurants, attractions and amenities so depending on how long your stay is for be prepared to travel and explore elsewhere during the day e.g. it is necessary to drive to a supermarket.
Maureen & Peter were very easy to deal with, both by phone and e-mail and answered any questions we had.
Owner's Response: We're delighted that you found "absolutely everything on-hand you could require" at our cottage, and that it was like a "clean & well maintained" home away from home where you could sit back and relax.
We're also quite pleased to hear that you found us accessible, and we were able to answer all the questions you had.
We are sorry to hear that you were not too excited about exploring the surrounding areas, and just want to point out to future guests that the local Supermarket is only 1.5 miles away on Rt. 2.
We, in fact, were initially attracted to Williamstown and the surrounding areas because they have such a wonderful variety of attractions and recreational opportunities. One of the most renowned is located in the heart of Williamstown; The Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute, offering a number of collections by French, British and American artists, as well as 140 acres of walking trails, woodlands, and picnic areas on its grounds. Of course there's also the Mass MoCA in North Adams, with a more modern perspective, and Williamstown Theatre Festival in the summer. The Appalachian Trail runs over Mount Greylock, and there are countless other outdoor recreational activities like Jiminy Peak or exploring the beautiful town of Bennington, VT., both just 17 minutes away from our cottage. And, of course, Williams College has many subtle, but very accessible, facets right in town, such as the a capella choir we chanced on one weekend in one of the town's beautiful churches, and the Chapin Library which is Williams' library of old books, displaying copies of the Constitution, Declaration of Independence, and Bill of Rights, amongst other wonderful holdings.
If you are interested in exploring the Berkshires, we think our cottage is perfectly situated to be your warm, cozy, comfortable home away from home! Please drop us an email, or give us a call.
Maureen & Peter
