40th B-Day Getaway

I was turning 40 at the end of October and wanted to spend a few days away from the hustle and bustle of our daily lives. We chose Berkeley Springs for its quaintness and the historical springs. My husband wanted to rent a home "in town" so that we could walk to Berkeley Springs State Park, the spas, shoppes and restaurants. Aunt Bea's Bungalow location was convenient to everywhere we wanted to visit.Cacapon State Park is only a few miles out of town and definitely worth the drive. Aunt Bea's Bungalow is an adorable craftsman style home with much of its original charm - hardwood flooring, tile work, archways - it is loaded with character and style! There were only 2 areas of the home that I was disappointed with. The first is that the road in front of the home is a VERY BUSY main road and the noise kept me awake most of the nights. I felt I had to come home to get a peaceful night of sleep. The second area was the hot tub. I believe this was a low entry or "starter" hot tub as it does not have many jets and the jets that it does have is not very powerful. Other than those two areas, we loved the home and Berkeley Springs and plan to return again!
