Vancouver trip

After a hectic two weeks covering many miles in Texas and LA, we were looking forward to a more relaxed time in Vancouver. It did not disappoint. Art, the owner, was easily contactable from the time we booked the apartment to arriving and greeted us on arrival at gone 10 o'clock at night to check us in. He even offered us a full refund prior to the visit due to maintenance work being done in the courtyard, however this did not affect our holiday in the slightest. The apartment is as it appears in the listing except the trees have grown somewhat since then obscuring slightly the view from the living room onto False Creek. However, the bedrooms are all comfortable and a mix of home cooking and take out proved the fully equipped kitchen and dining area was big enough to cater for the 5 adults there. The 2 TV's with cable ensured there was no shortage of programmes on offer. There is internet access in the property (ethernet cable) but we did not make use of that but my children did get free wifi access on their ipod touch. Laundry facilities are in the flat and the apartment was very clean on arrival.
About 5 minutes walk from the apartment on Davie Street is an excellent grocery shop, Urban Fare, where you can find anything you want and it stays open until 11 o'clock everyday. Literally minutes round the corner on Hamilton and Mainland is a great selection of restaurants & bars that Yaletown is renown for. We can recommend Charm Modern Thai on Hamilton and they will do take out on request also. Robson St and Granville St, the heart of downtown Vancouver, are only a 20 minute walk and Gastown a further 15 minute walk. All worth exploring during your stay. We were slightly disappointed by the Metropolis at Metrotown Mall in Burnaby but Grouse Mountain is great, albeit a little expensive, but that is made up for by the beautiful "free" walks around Lynn Canyon with its suspension bridge. Our final trip was to Granville Island and that is a great little place to mooch around for a bit. Check out In-Depth Image Company down Maritime Mews which does 3D photography where you do not need 3D glasses to get the effect.
We did find the Vancouver area a little more expensive than the LA and Houston areas we had just visited, but the scenery is beautiful and the apartment helped provide the relaxing portion of the holiday we were after.
All in all, I can thoroughly recommend this apartment and the Vancouver area in general.
